sorta hope oscar just meeps his way through the 2026 season without ever really properly acknowledging or addressing the second half of the 2025 season. just vague little, “mindset wasn’t there” comments. maybe, if he’s feeling cheeky he’ll hit another, “well lando didn’t become superman last year” to spice it up. ultimately i want him to choose to move in silence and to see the improvement, even if that means i can’t have fun with him being messy or petty, because it will probably spare him the pain of getting into detail about losing the title fight that early in his career.

the only alternative to this i prefer is he just pretends he’s forgotten the entirety of the 2025 season outside of his race wins. just mentions the griddy and not anything else.

the full reasoning will not be made clear in the fic so i figured i can tell you here! oscar is definitely going to say a version of which option, vaguely, he did in the fic but i can confirm he most certainly had an idea prior to logan being dropped that was “how do i keep logan in my life and as close as possible?” i mean, it was obvious to me as a fan that logan was not returning to f1 in 2025 and also that he was miserable by the end of it. there was plenty of speculation on carlos going to williams and it was not a surprise logan was getting dropped, just when it happened. so in my mind, and osc’s, this plan was probably being formulated but not finalized at the time of logie being dropped!

i’m not disclosing exactly what i do but i am in mental health! you’re probably able to guess what through my posts and fics what i do specifically but ~anonymity~ is important for me to not have this persona related to my professional one in any meaningful manner!
