Idk I just think if the biggest criticism you have of religion is “it’s made up” then maybe your problem isn’t with religion, actually. Maybe you just got burned by the hateful Baptist church you grew up in and decided that rather than unpack all the shit you went through and all the negative teachings of theirs that you internalized, you’d just yell at anyone who practices any religion that they’re bad people for not being atheist. Not only is that just proselytizing but with an atheist coat of paint, it makes any real criticism you may have about religion as a whole functionally useless, because it’s not coming from a place of critical thinking and analysis but instead from reactionary anger.
