With the last patch 1.120.140 fixed a bug where paintings by reference would go white but with that fix they broke the “Set Filters on Paintings by Reference” mod in a way where it is not easy fixable. I assume their fix might have been client site which prevents filter to work on the saved canvas. I will try to fix that mod but for now I consider it as broken. So pls remove until I (hopefully) find a way to make it work again.

Follow up info on the Set Filters on Paintings by Reference mod issue:

After I posted the first heads up info I spent 10hrs until early morning to try to fix something I feared is not even broken. Of course I was not able to find a working solution, and after some hrs of sleep I woke up to the news of new error reports in the EA forum that the issue of black photos and white paintings is not fixed for a lot of ppl and that it even got worse for some. You can read the new error reports here (photos) and here (paintings). EA already answered and kind of confirmed, what I already assumed, that the custom textures do not get saved correctly. You can read their answer here.

So for now I will stop trying to fix a mod that is not even broken.

But one good thing came out of me trying to fix it, a new mod I am working on that I wanted to do for a very long time: Being able to paint from photo references that are in your inventory or on walls.

I really do hope they will fix the actual bug soon and that their fix will not break the new mod because of the way they do save the textures now. I just have to wait and cross my fingers for this.

When you have issues with photos, paintings, puzzles etc losing their texture too, pls me too in the threads above.

The last few weeks I took a lot of time to learn how to convert adult animations to support children. It was not easy to learn that and it took a lot of trying by doing, frustration and headaches. I am and will never be an expert, but I was able to convert some animations I missed in-game which will be released soon. The animations are not perfect, but I am still pretty proud that I got it to work
