Complete and utter nonsense
The difference between my two favorite mlm ships in avantris is so interesting to me. Cause I realize I’ve tended to just put the “oh they’re in love but repressed and don’t say it” label on both of them, but there’s so much more to that.
Coalecroux’s dynamic doesn’t work without acknowledging at least Kremy’s attraction. There’s no room for interpretation, we know that Kremy loves Gideon. Gideon, while he definitely doesn’t show it as much, also has shown to at least see Kremy in higher regard than the other members of the Krew. He isn’t as brash or physical with Kremy, he tends to be more protective, he always sides with Kremy during arguments, it’s undeniable that Gideon has a deep care for Kremy. And yet, we still don’t know exactly if it’s going to happen. The tone of the campaign, combined with their lack of communication, has put the ship into a sort of limbo to me. “Oh, will they actually address these two properly, or will they keep the funny, unserious, ironic energy the whole time? Will these two actually, finally communicate or will their feelings forever be masked under the guise of stage plays and fae curses?”
Meanwhile Pykerett is interesting because we don’t really get that from either one, and yet (to me at least) there is just as much care between the two as Coalecroux. The crew of the Rhapsody are all family but Pyke and Rett are their own duo, similarly to Coalecroux. But what really gets me is that I don’t feel the need to put a label on it. I dont need to hear that these two characters love each other, it was never up for debate in the first place. Pyke always checks to make sure Rett is okay first after battles, Rett always has a pack of cigarettes and coffee brewing for Pyke in the morning, Rett kept Pyke’s room clean the entire time he was away, they confide in each other with things the others may never know.
Even with Ophelia and Pyke’s kiss, not once did I think “oh, will this cause conflict between Pyke and Rett?” because I know that the characters are mature enough to address it. Side note, I love Ophelia and Pyke’s dynamic, I love them together, I thought their kiss was sweet and it made me cry, and I think the way the campaign does the whole “oh, they’re both very different people with a complicated past but there’s also lingering love between them” so well.
The main difference is just the maturity of it all. Coalecroux is still in the “pining, will they, won’t they” of it all (even though we know there is attraction, it’s just the “will they actually address it by the time the campaign ends or will they leave it ambiguous”), there’s no questioning with Pykerett.
However, I do love the idea of it being one sided on Rett’s part. The whole “trying to reach out to Pyke during he and Ophelia’s moment” and then wiping soot off of his forehead and simultaneously brushing back his hair thing in the last two episodes really cemented the possibility of at least Rett having feelings.
Hello person having transgender thoughts but convinced they aren't trans because they don't have the requisite amount of dysphoria they think they need
Hi I transitioned without even thinking I had dysphoria. Like later in hindsight I can go "oh that's probably what it was" but for the first year of my transition I was straight up like "I like being a guy but I like being a girl WAY more" and you can do that!! There is no prerequisite amount of suffering needed to make yourself happier.
Gonna include these tags cuz they're good
You have been booped by this empty wrapping paper tube.

my corner store guy is a 50 year old man who's my best friend in the world and recently he was like "you're too pretty to be single I have some nephews you should meet. very handsome!" and I was like "a niece might be more up my alley" and he just got more excited and said "ah even better! I was overselling my nephews but my nieces are very beautiful"
OP the tags!!

How to write HATEABLE Villains
1. Give them power over something the reader cares about A villain who can’t actually hurt anything important is just annoying. Give them control over a person, a system, a truth, or a resource the protagonist and reader are emotionally invested in.
2. Make them punch down, not up Readers hate villains who abuse people with less power. Targeting children, the vulnerable, the innocent, or the desperate instantly signals moral rot.
3. Let them feel justified The most infuriating villains believe they’re right. They don’t see themselves as cruel, they see themselves as necessary, logical, or “doing what must be done.”
4. Make them calm while doing terrible things Cold politeness, soft voices, or pleasant manners paired with cruelty feels far more disturbing than loud rage. It creates emotional whiplash that sticks.
5. Give them small, petty cruelty on top of big evil Genocide is abstract. Stealing someone’s last comfort, humiliating someone publicly, or enjoying another person’s fear feels personal — and that’s what makes readers angry.
6. Let them win more than feels fair A villain becomes hateable when they keep getting away with it. Let them succeed. Let them walk free. Let them hurt people without consequence — for a while.
7. Deny the reader catharsis Cut away before justice. Interrupt revenge. Delay consequences. The lack of emotional release builds frustration that gets attached directly to the villain.
8. Make them emotionally invasive They don’t just hurt bodies — they manipulate, gaslight, shame, isolate, and reframe reality. They make the protagonist doubt themselves.
9. Let them corrupt something good They twist love into control, faith into obedience, loyalty into fear, or law into cruelty. Watching something pure rot because of them creates hatred fast.
10. Don’t soften them with too much sympathy A tragic backstory can explain behavior, but if you want them hateable, don’t excuse it. Let the story clearly show that their pain does not justify their harm.
negative self talk IS unproductive and painful for you and often those around you. but like every other post that talks about this is like “yeah it makes you an exhausting and burdensome person to be around and if you don’t stop now everyone in your life will abandon you. Also I personally hate you for it”. and it’s like hey hi hello. basically the theme of all my negative self talk is that I’m an exhausting and burdensome person to be around and that everyone in my life will soon abandon and hate me. so like haha what’re we doing here? are you going to provide any actionable advice for how to get out of this habit, or just tell me that I’m Doing Bad And Wrong And Must Suffer For It?
Anyway. If you struggle with negative self-talk I feel for you. It’s hellish, and it’s not something that can just be bludgeoned out of someone by telling them it sucks. We know! I’m not out of the weeds just yet by a long shot, but here’s some of the stuff that’s been helpful for me:
- Fake it til it’s real: cliche, I know! but it really has helped for me, even though it makes me suuuuper uncomfortable at times. but literally tell yourself that you’re super charismatic and sexy and everyone loves you. or whatever version of that feels good for how you’d like to be seen. it’s gonna feel silly and untrue for a really long time, but it helps!
- Reframe: I struggled to phrase this one, but what I mean basically is like… taking that notion of “hey negative self-talk sucks for the people around you too” and turning it into “wow, it is kind of mean to my friends to just assume they’re lying when they say they love me. I don’t want to be mean to my friends. I’m going to take the risk of trusting them”. Try not to go too far in the direction of “oh god I’m being mean to my friends” and stay on the path of “I want to and CAN do right by them”
- Separate from it: I like to kind of act like my negative self talk is something of a different entity from me. Your mileage may vary on this one. I was a really mean really sad teenage girl once, and for me that kind of feels like the place the negative self talk comes from. So instead of being like “I guess I just hate myself and always will”, I can be like “I have this wounded inner child who is lashing out. I’m going to be gentle with her, but I’m also going not going to listen to the things she tells me we are, because she is 16 and hasn’t experienced anything good yet.”
This is far from a comprehensive list but this post is getting long—feel free to add on if you have any tactics that have worked especially well for you!
I love fanfiction because sometimes The Character needs to be held gently and sometimes they need to be beaten to death with a club. and you 🫵 can make both of those happen. for free

the more you listen to it, the funnier it gets
Audio: dramatic piano. The husky screams along, vaguely keeping the rhythm but not the tune
That last ROO always gets me
