Link says he will continue growing out his beard through January!! :D
Dear Whoever-grants-wishes…
I’ve spent this christmas in isolation with a delightful stomach bug, with no energy to do anything but doomscroll and sleep. Things have been…sh♡♡y.
I may have, “inadvertently”, given my YT algorithm the impression that inbetween the animal videos, I also need to see every clip ever posted about the Heated Rivalry press tour. And because I could use a christmas miracle, I’m just gonna throw this out into the universe, and hope my wish is granted:
Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie would be the perfect pairing for a round of the GMM best friends / bros / any committed couplings challenge. The one where they had the Property Brothers and all. I SO hope to see this happen.
If who-ever-grants-wishes happens to see this, here are some reasons for why this would be epic:
1) Heated Rivalry is all kinds of awesome, not least because of the perfect lead actors.
2) It is obvious Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams have a great sense of humour, ability to throw themselves into things fearlessly, and the kind of friend dynamic that can match Rhett and Link’s. Sure, they’re new to this friend thing, but they took the fast route. R&L took 40 years to cuddle naked, Connor and Hudson not quite as long. It evens things out.
3) This would be a cross-over episode, the kind GMM strives for. I’m willing to bet every person in the Heated Rivalry fandom would tune in. Possibly multiple times.
That’s all I ask for christmas. I’m currently celebrating the fact that the pizza I ate three hours ago, instead of the feast my family had planned, is still in my system. And, although this is the wrong day to say this, this year I’m thankful for the fact that I pay for a VPN service, which allows me to watch Heated Rivalry now, when it’s fresh, instead of in distant future, when someone around my part of the world understands just how great the series is.
I have a confession to make, and also a question to ask.
The confession: I haven’t watched either the just posted video on Rhett’s own channel, or the previous one. Not because I don’t want to, but because I seem to have a deep-rooted anxiety about finding out something about Rhett’s views on religion that I don’t want to know. I wouldn’t classify myself as someone with religious trauma, but I’ve been kind of forced to interact with religion recently in real life, when I really would prefer not to. I’ve kind of reached my quota of finding out people I like believe things that are unrealistic at best or hurtful to others at worst. I don’t expect Rhett to say anything like that, but I feel my nerve-endings are exposed, and I don’t want to get hurt. A big part of why I love GMM is that it’s to a degree, predictable. But this Rhett channel is new, and I don’t quite know what to expect.
So, the question:
For those of you, who’ve watched the new Rhett video, or the first one (have there been more, I don’t know)…If I watch the video(s), would you say his beliefs are about the same as they have been, based on what he has said on Ear Biscuits? If yes, I might have the guts to watch the videos. I feel silly being worried, but honestly, ‘tis the season for people behavkng strangely, and I need the rest of my good people to stay firmly on the good side right now. Good being, the side, which isn’t run by hate, prejudice and a moral code based on a questionable interoretation of a fictional story written by some guys a few milennia ago.
X The way Link flaunted that blue tie reminds me of that one More many moons ago, when he wore a body chain under his shirt and mesmerized former Mythical employee Alex along with everyone else. He knew he looked good.
My internet service went down yesterday just as I made a realization, while rewatching GME. It doesn’t really change anything, other than maybe assure some of those people (who mostly dwell on Reddit), who were concerned about Link’s alcohol intake or that he maybe was too drunk to comprehend what was going on. I’m putting this (not-so-shocking) revelation under a break, in case you’re still to watch the show (after-show, specifically).
