Okay, Tamlin really screwed up. That total control, the growling, the isolation, the loss of control when he almost hurt Feyre the first time and actually hurt her the second time (even though Feyre intentionally provoked him the second time and didn't try to defend herself, but Tamlin still took the bait and hurt her). So Feyre did the right thing when she dumped Tamlin (even though I don't like the destruction of the Spring Court, she should have taken her revenge on Tamlin directly instead of taking it out on others).
But damn, Rhysand is no better! When was the last time Feyre left Velaris alone? Tamlin surrounded Feyre with guards, but isn't Feyre accompanied by Cass, Az, or Mor 90% of the time in the Night Court? Add to that Rhys who is constantly in her head. What kind of autonomy can we talk about when Feyre's five-hundred-year-old, mentally more experienced husband can access her mind at any time? When Feyre was pregnant, Rhys surrounded her with a force field that repelled not only threats, but also friends and family members, and this was called a "compromise." So Rhys was originally proposing something more radical?
This is just suck!!! This poor, naive twenty-year-old girl, already with a child, is forever locked in this unhealthy relationship and thinks everything is perfect. When everyone around her thinks Tamlin is the worst, but, hello, look around!
The Rogares: our Larra would be a good match for Viserys ;)
Meanwhile Visenya: *existing*

@sweetestpopcorn just a friendly reminder about who Viserys can end up with (this isn’t friendly 🔫)
I read the Acotar series and I'm horrified. This entire series is as misogynistic as it gets.
Poor Feyre, who is passed around like a trophy from one toxic man to another throughout the entire series. A fairly independent and freedom-loving girl, by the end she becomes completely dependent on her husband, who lies to her face about her pregnancy. All her friends are Rhys's friends, who in the fifth book prefer Rhysand to her and lie to her. Her title of High Lady is absolutely meaningless and in fact Feyre is the same lady of the court as everyone else.
Amren and Nesta are incredibly powerful characters who lose their power, but miracle! Rhysand dies and is resurrected still at the peak of his power.
Mor is supposedly stronger than Cassian and Azriel, but her power is never shown. She suffered a terrible trauma when she lived in the Hewn city, but after all these years, she doesn't even think about the fact that there are thousands of other women living under her father's rule who could suffer like her. And she even offers to send Nesta there (Mor suffers from his trauma for five hundred years, but Nesta is supposed to get better in a year?).
Based on other readers' comments, the only interesting thing about Elain is who she ends up sleeping with. Although, out of all the sisters, I like her strength the most. How all the other characters ignore Elain's fatal blow to the king and only talk about Nesta it's unfair.
Rhys's mother and sister simply don't have names, as do Lucien's mother and the Archeron sisters' parents.
The Illyrians are a disaster. Their treatment of women and little boys is terrible and it's obvious that the High Lord won't do anything about it unless it benefits him. And the way Rhysand showers Amren with jewels when some of his Illyrian subjects, who are the backbone of his army, can't afford a blanket - I can feel the elitism.
Out of the entire series, I have no more than five sympathetic characters, and I think that's only because SJM hasn't managed to ruin them yet. I really don't understand how there are so many rave reviews and such a large fan base, and when I see Rhys or Cassian on social media as being on the list of top book boyfriends, I want to scream.
Rhaenyra Targaryen wearing the golden cloak 🫣
I wanted to post the other part of the drawing too, but my health has been terrible lately
Inspired by The Blacks & The Greens by @sweetestpopcorn
Rhaenyra Targaryen has been repeatedly let down by the men in her life.
Her father practically dug his daughter's grave when he remarried and fathered three sons, then married her off against her will. Her favorite uncle seduced and damaged his niece's reputation when she was practically a child. Rhaenyra's personal sworn shield was obsessed with her since she was a child, and betrayed her after she rejected him. Her first husband didn't care about her, and the father of her three children did nothing for the mother of his children.
As a result, Rhaenyra raised five men who loved their mother more than anything else and respected the women in their lives in general.
Jace and Luke were always respectful to Baela and Rhaena (and didn't have a habit of hitting on every woman in a row like their uncle when he was teenager ), Aegon III and Daenaera seemed to be happy enough together and respectful of each other (and he at least didn't immediately consummate their marriage when his wife started her period, unlike his uncle and namesake), Viserys II loved his wife with all his heart and didn't forget her until his death.
Baby Aegon after his first flight from @sweetestpopcorn The Blacks & The Greens
"And take Caraxes and Syrax’s little egg with us? They might miss their “children” whilst they are away. Did you have to keep that one?" he asked, pointing to the grey egg that rested on a soft red pillow near her bedside table. "Not the most remarkable of colours is it?" But Rhaenyra no longer heard him. She was too entranced with the swirls of dark grey on the scales of the egg and her mind was very far from there. -The Blacks & the Greens by @sweetestpopcorn Chapter 37 Rhaenyra XVI
Final piece of part 1!! Not to say I won't do other scenes but for the personal goal/project I've set to try to do one piece a month in chronological fashion I'll be starting part 2 pieces soon. I've always loved the hopeful ending this final scene had after such a devastating previous arc.
As always click for best quality.
Rhaenys "with a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys toward the foe" Targaryen
Daemon "swung a leg over his saddle and leapt from one dragon to the other" Targaryen
Rhaenyra "raise her head toward the sky and shriek out one last curse upon her half-brother" Targaryen
That's three dragon heads to me
