hey everyone! a bit of a different post but it felt important
so the FEI (federation equestre internationale) is a pretty powerful force and influencer for all things equestrian sports related and it was noted in this draft of proposals that visibly bleeding horses during or before a competition would not be disqualified but rather issued a warning
i really encourage u all to sign or at least spead the word on this (the final voting on these changes happens in november but im not sure the exact date)
equestrian sports r already riddled with normalized abuse unfortunately and the least the FEI can do is send the message to upcoming equestrians and fans of the sport that: no, u cant injure ur horse and potentially get a medal for it! horses arent giant machines incapable of feeling there needs to be lines and boundaries made for their safety! equestrians should be in it for the love of the horse and not the glamour of winning
