I’ve found this comment from the author of Whipping Girl (yes, that book) to be very… relevant!
There’s also this part near the end of her essay which stood out to me concerning transandrophobia. Not only did she already say that she failed to acknowledge transmascs/men in her book (I forgot where I saw that, if anyone has a link I’d love to add it in) but she seems to actively acknowledge the mistreatment transmascs/men face!
The essay is linked at the end
This feels… I don’t know if ironic is the right word but it’s definitely odd that many transandrophobes cite the book Whipping Girl yet the creator is against the mistreatment of transmascs/men. Huh, some food for thought.

If you’re familiar with my work you might recognize this piece, since it’s the cover illustration for my art book✨
Catseye the living doll! Catseye was given sentience from the memory of a digital camera, she lives alone in the coastal home of her late grandpa where she spends her time obsessing over photography and geography.
Catseye very rarely goes beyond the forests and paths surrounding the house; she is self-conscious of her doll body and avoids people when she can, she will also wear layered clothes to keep her body hidden and protected from the elements.
Catseye was born from her grandpa's attempts to create a robotic doll that would be able to recount the memories of the life he had recorded of his wife, there was never any intention of Catseye being given human sentience but through some manner of crossing of wires this occurred.
Catseye has many memories of things that have never happened to her resulting in frequent déjà vu and a sense of life being a dream, this compounding with doll body often makes her hyper-aware that she isn't a 'real' person.
