Read Eyes or No Eyes at Heroic Quarterly
“Are your eyes not a pittance for the sake of your kingdom?” I wrote a fantasy piece that would make my knighted ancestors proud — a misanthropic old wizard nurses a brave knight back to health after she is wounded in a joust. The shattering of a lance is the fulcrum upon which the fates of a kingdom turn in “Eyes or No Eyes” and all will be tested. Except for the wizard. He hates that kind of…
I’ve had fiction accepted at a couple of venues.
- “Eyes or No Eyes” will appear in issue 30 of Heroic Fantasy Quarterly. Illustrated! When a knight is blinded in a jousting accident, the attendant wizard relates the unusual change of fortunes between the injured knight and a feckless prince.
- “Death Run” will appear in issue 2 of Turn to Ash: Open Lines.A woman on the run from the consequences of…

Review: The Sleep Corporation by Douglas Thompson

It’s a great line up with amazing writers. I’m still rubbing my eyes to see names like “Zelazny” and “Maberry”, along with my…
My Loaded Gun, My Lonely Heart fresh from Audible

I’ve been remiss keeping updates lately.
The latest however, is good news, and it’s that Audible.com has released the audio version of My Loaded Gun, My Lonely Heart. The smooth talker Christian Rummel does an excellent job of bringing Vitus to life, everyone should be so lucky to have their work narrated thusly.
Anyone interested in getting ahold of a few copies of this for review purposes…

Vultures, Actually – “My Favorite Bit” on Mary Robinette Kowal’s Blog
I wax rhapsodic on vultures today on Mary Robinette Kowal’s Blog for that book-type thing I’m calling…

Joe Mynhardt over at Crystal Lake was kind enough to feature me over at “The Deep End” blog where I talk about psychopaths with hearts of gold and human monsters in support of My Loaded Gun, My Lonely Heart, released this November 3. Stop by and give it a read and check out all the other entries where authors discuss facets of their stories and their writing process.
