COMPARISON
Something about Cassidy and William both fearing judgment scratches my brain.
Like- William is terrified of divine judgment because he KNOWS he’s a horrible person who has no chance of getting into heaven.
Meanwhile, Cassidy is terrified of Judgment because she’s scared she just isn’t good enough. Cassidy is too afraid to face judgment, to move on because she’s scared that she’s just as bad as William, even though that idea is completely unfounded.
I love the concept of Cassidy being a genuinely really nice, really selfless person, but she can’t see herself past her anger and desire for vengeance. And to her, those are bad things.
I love the idea of William taunting Cassidy about that, making her think they’re one and the same. Same fear of judgment. “Why, we even wear a matching pair of suits, ol’ sport!”
