Thinking back to the first story I ever started writing down (I was 7 or 8) about a group of stray cats who, every full moon, took the form of human kids. They actually were human kids, who had been killed (all at different times/by different people). Their bodies were each dumped by the side of the road where a cat had been hit by a car previously, and their souls landed in the cats' bodies. Eventually they all found each other and decided that every full moon, when they shifted, they'd try to solve each other's murders one by one. It was going to be a series, with each book focusing on a different kid's murder mystery. I told my mom about it once, briefly, and she said "Those cat books (warrior cats) are making you creepy."

Just finished writing this manuscript, the first story I ever started. 23 years in the making. Never give up, even if your mom calls you creepy 🖤

After 73 days, Palestine Action activists have ended their hunger strike as the government decided to cancel plans for a ~£2bn contract with Israeli arms firm Elbit Systems.

This is a victory to be proud of, and a tremendous sacrifice on behalf of the strikers. The struggle goes on, of course, but that's £2bn less in the pockets of the Zionist warmongers, £2bn's worth of bombs and bullets that will never shed Palestinian blood.

Some of you think of Cops as kind of a symbolic figure representing "telling you what to do" & you're Posting things like "acab includes fandom discourse" and I thuink the 80% white website needs to remember the reason why we hate cops is because they kill people

tlirsgender

We hate cops because they're a weapon for enforcing the state's interests through violence. Like, they kill & imprison people. The antis don't have a Quite Literal boot on your neck please god log off or talk to a Black person or something

tlirsgender

To be SO fair like really generous there is something to be said for unlearning the habit of figuratively "policing" other people especially in the context of, like, not being a fucking snitch, "kill the cop in your head" etc etc, but can we not completely lose the plot re: what cops Are

Didn't even get out of my alley on the way to work before ICE tried another major assault in my neighborhood this morning. Spent two hours plus chasing ICE around the neighborhood. Got my first taste of tear gas and handed out a bunch of my KN95 masks to other folks for next time. It's nasty shit but it can be survived.

Also saw officers shooting at people's feet to make them move not once but twice. Given that the bullets didn't bounce and left small holes in the asphalt, I think that might have been live rounds (please correct me if someone knows better). Didn't catch it on video, I'm not great at recording yet but I expect to get a lot of practice in the next few weeks.

My poor furious neighborhood. I ran into someone who had been on her way to lay flowers on Renee Good's grave when she heard the whistle and showed up. That's where we are today. Can't even grieve without having to stand up and fight again.

Once you start noticing how the incapacity to handle discomfort affects how people live their lives it's actually pretty shocking how it ruins pretty much every conceivable aspect of existence. Interpersonal relationships, romantic and platonic. Career and education opportunities. Your politics Your willingness to go anywhere. The kind of food you eat. The kind of art you expose yourself to and your ability to read it. It's never just one thing, it touches everything, and once you notice it it's like suddenly being able to see germs or something. Just this horrific catastrophe people look at you askance for screaming about. As I grow older and see what became of my friends and peers who could not learn to handle discomfort, the more I'm like. This is a genuine societal issue
