Dumb little comic I made months ago. even though the art isn’t the best in it I put a lot of time into this, and I’m proud of myself for having finished it. hopefully I can make better little comics moving forward :)

while I'm in my sanders sides fixation. we've seen really only a limited amount of their interactions (compared to some of the others anyway) but the dynamic between janus and remus really fascinates me. it's the guy who embodies repression and the guy who embodies most of the things you wanna repress. they are inseparable. and maybe, in one approach to the metaphor they embody, these characters would be at odds - so it's really interesting to me that sanders sides kinda goes the opposite direction, here. janus' job does, in part, include keeping remus in check - but he's seemingly no more opposed to remus existing or doing his thing than the other sides. he'll act annoyed and roll his eyes but he seems way more willing to put up with remus than anybody else is. he actually seems to like him! it's fun.

there's a lot to extrapolate there - like the fact that these two have probably been working closely together for ages, both of them in the shadows but never entirely alone. janus lingers in the dark because it's where he best does his job, and remus lingers there because it's where he's forced to be. even if janus has to keep him there - out of sight, out of mind - he's not being cruel to remus. if anything he's giving the guy more genuine attention than anybody else. like. can you imagine being remus. nobody wants you around, not even your own brother, except for the one guy whose job is to keep you out of the way. and he actually puts up with you, maybe just because he has to at first, but eventually he's kind of like a friend. and you two are alone together. isn't that nuts to think about. fanfic writers are onto something with these two
