  • ARTHUR
If this is you trying to leave your job…

    MERLIN
No. I’m happy to be your servant. Till the day I die.

    ARTHUR
Sometimes I think I know you, Merlin. Other times… [shakes head]

    MERLIN
Well, I know you. And you’re a great warrior. One day, you’ll be a great king.

    ARTHUR
    That’s very kind of you.

    MERLIN
But you must learn to listen as well as you fight.

    ARTHUR
    Any other pointers?

    MERLIN
    No. That’s it. Just…don’t be a prat.

this whole interaction just breaks my heart because arthur is just so confused and merlin is almost to the point of making a love confession while he’s about to go ride to what he believes is his death

this interaction must baffle arthur for years to come, he probably remembers it as he lays dying in merlin’s arms after the battle of camalann and he finally realizes what merlin was intending to say

  • Fuck the sigil scene messes me up- FUCK THAT DELETED SCENE FUCKS ME UP SO HARD GOD FUCKING-

  • Merlin: *arriving to Camelot or some battle with Kilgarrah*

Leon: is that the Great Dragon Arthur killed? Because you pronounced me dead last time that thing was around. Almost buried me before realizing I still had a faint heartbeat.

    Merlin:

    Merlin: yeah… about that…

MERLIN | 4x06 “A Servant of Two Masters”

  • Merthur is so crazy bc it’s like. we are bound together by fate. he makes me laugh. we are two sides of the same coin. I make fun of him when no one else will. he has all the power. I have all the power. he shoves me and runs. he couldn’t do this without me. I couldn’t do this without him. we play pranks. I say I told you so. he makes me clean his room. I have so much faith in him that it will make the world he will build real. we are friends. we are a servant and his master. we are in love. I will wait for him forever. we are bound together by fate.

  • I love when Arthur completely disregards information. Like the episode in season three when he's getting the fisher kings trident or whatever. And he gets told "you can't do this alone, you'll need Strength and 𝕸𝖆𝖌𝖎𝖈" and he's just like, "cool, anyways". Then his best bud Merlin and this fucking guy he's chummy with show up and he also just like, "cool, anyways" albeit a little more whiny abt his quest getting "messed up".

I'm so amazed by his ability to Worry About That Later.™️.

He also just. Doesn't seem to notice a difference in his physical health in this episode. Not even a "man why am I so tired". He's fit. He's used to journies like this. Merlin and Gwaine got through the same portion he did and weren't even phased, but apparently it was completely logical for him to be having to have a quick nap (read: damsel faint) every couple of hours. Or whatever the fuck the time span of that was.

Love when my Boy Thang servant shows up and the grip of death I hadn't noticed until now is suddenly gone.

    You boggle me, blonde boy

  • This one keeps cracking me up.

Also on the Servant of Two Masters episode, he overlooks Merlin getting knocked out at least five times, and that he had a sword in his hand one of those times. All the while he's worried about a traitor. And at then, he's about to be angry with Merlin for taking a day off, but him fainting or sleeping on the floor of his chambers was fine.

You truly are a puzzle blond boy, wonder if you're not the one who needs fathoming out. Yes yes, trust, Merthur, love, yes. Explains all really, but still.

  • I love this scene, especially when you watch it in context. This is just after Merlin confronted Arthur about Agravaine lying. The scene where Merlin was clearly upset and angry right in front of Arthur due to the disappearance of Gauis. Arthur actually said that he had already lost one friend today and not to make him lose another.

As far as Arthur was concerned Merlin was upset and angry with him that night and then in the morning he wasn’t there. Look at how panicked Arthur is above and think about how panicked he would of been earlier in the morning when he realised Merlin was gone. I mean he hasn’t even bothered to put shoes on or get dressed. He has straight away gone everywhere, including outside, looking for Merlin.

I don’t think this is Arthur being annoyed with Merlin. I think this is him covering up his panicking due to the fact he thinks the only friend he has left and the one that he relied on to always be there has left him.
