my corner store guy is a 50 year old man who's my best friend in the world and recently he was like "you're too pretty to be single I have some nephews you should meet. very handsome!" and I was like "a niece might be more up my alley" and he just got more excited and said "ah even better! I was overselling my nephews but my nieces are very beautiful"

why do closed captions keep pretending english is the only intelligible language? when a character speaks spanish what exactly is forcing your hand to transcribe it as "[speaks foreign language]" rather than "Si"

Help Rahaf and her family!

Please don’t scroll!

I want to take a moment to tell you about Rahaf Kuskain. She is a twelve year old girl from Gaza. Since 2023, she has been suffering from a brain tumor, which has resulted in loss of vision.

Rahaf and her mother have been evacuated from Gaza. They are currently in Jordan so Rahaf can receive medical treatment. However, Rahaf’s family desperately needs help to raise money for her ongoing medical care. Furthermore, six members of the Kuskain family remain in Gaza, where they endure unbelievable suffering in the ongoing genocide. They live in conditions no person should have to endure.

This campaign will help raise money for Rahaf’s medical treatment, and support the members of the Kuskain family in Gaza. I’ve seen what the community here on Tumblr has done for people in need, and I have faith that we can work together to help Rahaf and her family. If you’re reading these words, you have the power to help. Please donate as much as you can, and share this post so that it might reach others who can donate.

Vetted by @/bilal-sala7 at number #57. Please don't hesitate to share and donate if you can.

No new donations for six days!

I really don't know what more to say. Imagine if you, your child, your sibling, needed lifesaving medical treatment and couldn't afford it. That's the situation Rahaf and her family are in right now. Please, show compassion and reach out to help someone who needs you. Even small donations add up, and even if you can't donate, you can share this campaign so that it can reach someone who can.

September 21, 2025: $1,229/$30,000 AUD.

According to campaign organizer Jemma and Rahaf's family, Rahaf's next treatment is scheduled not long from now, in the first full week of October. Think of how devastated her family will be if she can't get treatment because the fundraiser stagnated. I want to reiterate, even small donations add up! If you truly can't donate, please share so that Rahaf's fundraiser can reach someone who can.

Also, please note that this campaign is in Australian dollars and keep conversion rates in mind.

when boy bands sing a love song addressed to the listener does that imply all 5-10 of them are in love with you at once. that seems like a lot of pressure i don't know if i want to be the nucleus of the boyband polycule.

People who regret not having kids tend to extend themselves to help kids in need around them, the childless lady in the neighborhood who gives out good Halloween candy, your favorite uncle who takes you to do fun stuff. People who regret having kids, on the other hand? Absolute demons to everyone around them. Lol. The common refrain of “You’re going to end up lonely in a nursing home if you don’t have kids.” is extremely wrong if you’re a good person and I would say a large percentage of visit-less elderly people in nursing homes actually had children, they just treated them like shit.

Fun fact: if you, as an adult, tell miserable children that their youth is the best that life will ever be, and that it's all just downhill from there, there's a percentage of them who will hear this and think "well, I guess I better kill myself before that happens." And a certain percentage of those will proceed to do that and succeed.

Anyway what I'm saying is that any time you feel tempted to say that, you should instead consider shutting the fuck up. Just because you peaked at 16 doesn't mean anyone else did. Most peoples' lives get better than that.

btw if youre young and scared of doing adult things without your parents ive learned that like 90% of the time you can just tell the doctors office or the dmv "haha sorry ive never done this without help before... can you show me how to do this?" the employee will not care. if that means anything to you
