With Monkey Safari’s “Shelter” still on heavy rotation at clubs and radio stations alike, the boys deliver their new release “Sturm”.
Monkey Safari were never an act that could be labelled with a certain genre–the German duo never dared to go new ways with their sound. Over the past two years, they were headed deep into the darker realms of electronic music, culminating in the release of their album “Odyssey” last year.
With the aforementioned “Shelter” and the new “Sturm” release, Monkey Safari are slowly bringing back the playful melodies.
This back to the roots attitude comes at a time where it could be seen as an alternative to the “harder-better-faster” mentality in the electronic music scene. It may be a harbinger of what to expect from the duo in the near future.
