Israel has forced many aid groups in Gaza to shut down. The only aid left for the people of Gaza is distributed by grassroots organisations such as Relief for Rafah, who are working to provide families with tents and winter clothing in the midst of freezing rain and flooding. Who said children’s dreams have to be big and impossible?
My children would settle for a home… and a TV that plays cartoons without suddenly going dark.
Sometimes I laugh… not because it’s funny, but because reality has become cruel to the point of irony.
What has become my children’s dream today was never a dream to begin with.
A safe home, a working TV, ordinary moments that millions of children live without a second thought.
More than half of my children’s lives have been spent in war.
They grew up to the sound of shelling instead of laughter,
lived with fear instead of safety,
until they no longer remember our previous life…
a life filled with warmth, simplicity, and happiness.
Your support and donations are not just numbers added to my GoFundMe account;
they are a real chance for my children to grow up knowing that someone saw them,
and chose to stand beside them in this darkness.
Yesterday I was discharged from the hospital after a wall collapsed right next to my tent, falling directly on my family. We remained under the rubble for 15 minutes.
I suffered a broken rib and bruises on my back as a result of it falling directly on us due to the strong storm that hit Gaza, and the rest of my family were injured.
I am currently living with strangers, and I desperately need to buy a new tent for my family and me to live in.
We lost all our belongings under the rubble. We have no food supplies, no mattresses, no blankets, and no clothes left. Please help us, as we desperately need assistance to rebuild our lives.
Since the wall collapsed on my family, no one has helped us. We were even taken in by a family whose house was cramped, and we left four days ago.
We urgently need to buy a tent. Please have mercy on us so we can buy a tent and shelter ourselves before a new storm arrives, which is rumored to be severe.
Don’t leave us sleeping in the street without a tent; we just want to buy a tent for my family.
