I fear only him will get in relationships :( (I have no clue how to do those types of things, so I never really try to)

Some very vague Villain!Waterboy concepts

I wanted his villain costume to employ more of a fishy camouflage, with the lighter belly and darker back. He was not exclusively Shroud's goon, but Shroud was kind of the one who got him into villain world soooo red accents. And also this loser now is not only anxious but also depressed so no optimistic yellow in his color pallet

Robert not becoming Mecha-man and using his money to open a coffee bar that has ridiculous hours like 7pm - 9am. It gets an surprising amount of business, heros and villains are out at all hours, and Robert makes damn good coffee.

He has a set menu, and also a list of ingredients he loves when customers make up a random drink, if he likes it enough he’ll put it on the menu. Coffee is actually delicious, he uses the good quality stuff, not to mention Robert himself is just good at making drinks. Sometimes Robert will bake treats and put them out for the customers to have with their drinks. Makes spicy and savory coffee.

It’s a cozy place. The walls are neatly covered in CD’s, vinyls, and posters, stuff Robert likes. The music changes depending on the day, or he’ll let someone else choose. He’s allowed customers to add their own pictures on the walls, within reason of course, and because of this he has a wall that’s just pictures of pets.

It’s a bit of a ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ place. If a villain and a hero walk in a the same time, they tend to just act like they didn’t see them, or if they decide to fight, most respect Robert enough to take it outside and maybe a couple blocks away. He has a ‘please no fighting inside’ sign.

He hears about a lot of hero and villain happenings. Robert has a very inviting presence,people sit at the bar and then they just can’t seem to stop talking. Personal issues get brought up just as often, he’s talked quite a few villains into going down a better path (and hiring a couple), he’s even helped to people realize the heroism simply isn’t for them (two people actually, he also hired them)

He pays his employees well, not like he lacks the money, he’s also there quite often since he likes to work. Maybe he gets sick or something and decides to close for a few days, and he has hero’s and villains on his balcony like ‘hey man saw you were closed for a while, you ok?’

I fucking knew the phenomaman guy from dispatch is not evil. this was soooo clear if you just cut the intimidating music of while he's talking: he doesn't know where to put his hands in the ad video, he's genuinely asking robert questions that can be socially read as mean or rude because he Doesn't consider them as such. he just wants to know. blonde blazer literally says "you can't keep asking other people why they're smaller then you". that's a reoccurring thing with this guy. he invites robert to a restaurant 30 seconds after meeting him. where he's going on a date. right now. Genuinely. when he leaves, he asks robert to back off a little so he doesn't get hurt. because robert is smaller. and smaller living things tend to get hurt when a literal rocket is soaring to the sky near them. he's autistic in a way a cosmic entity learning how to behave like a human is autistic. he's just a guy

The potential of villain! Robert and henchman! Flambae is so important to me. Because here’s the thing:

ROBERT is a villain. Flambae is just employed.

Robert doesn’t go out of his way to cause damage when he doesn’t have to.

he’s more of a vigilante than anything, but his methods are sustained through illegal means (robbing banks, hacking CEOs, leaking Vanderstanker’s DMs because he thinks it’s funny)

Flambae? Does what he wants, always. He thinks his plans are genius, AND he gets to help people HIS way? Awesome.

The owner does not mind. Flambae shared his recipe and they’ll pay for the repairs. It’s all good.

Most SDN calls? Happen because Mecha Man CANNOT stop fighting with his henchman in public. The rest of the Z-team? Fully believe those two are MARRIED.

Coop, who’s Robert’s spy, thinks that’s VERY funny.

MechaBat fluff I've been stewing on for a while

Robert with echolalia, that he HEAVILY tried to suppress when it didn't go away with age, letting his guard down after a long night out with the team ↓ A long long night out, long enough that he's drifting off on Sonar's shoulder

Robert's not quite asleep just yet, it turns out, and he lets out a low hum back [it's nowhere near accurate, but it follows the same cadence] -> Sonar immediately zeroes in on it, his ears perking up

Sonar, with a steadying hand on Robert's back: Bobert? Robert, rowsing slightly: Bobert? ...what? [The sleepy haze clears slightly and he stiffens- though doesn't seem aware enough to move off of Victor's shoulder] Robert: Shit.. I'm not supposed to do that... sorry Sonar: No- no, do it again?
