We all know what erectile dysfunction is but literally no one is ever taught what vaginismus is and it can cause people to feel extremely lost, broken, and cause people to take their own lives. Raise. Awareness.

For the uninformed, vaginismus is when the vagina painfully tightens and spasms when faced with pressure, usually from anything trying to insert into the vagina. It’s the reason I can’t wear tampons, and why many people can’t have vaginal sex without severe pain.

There’s not a lot of treatments, and there isn’t a single one that is for vaginismus exclusively - they’re all medications or treatments to treat symptoms, but not the causes. In fact, for a long time doctors waved off vaginismus as a purely psychological disorder in cis women.

Seriously, this is so unaddressed and uncared for in medical circles. Please spread awareness, even if all it’s for is to let those who have it but don’t have a name for it finally be able to understand what’s happening to their bodies.

Certified Sex Ed Post!

Hi hello! This post is almost 10 years old and there ARE treatments for this. Vaginismus is otherwise known as pelvic hypertonia and it is a MUSCULAR condition that can be caused by many different factors including endometriosis, trauma, chronic UTIs, and connective tissue disorders.

It’s incredibly common! And it can be treated by physiotherapy.

I know this because I’m currently undergoing physio and although it can take months to recover, I’m already seeing improvement. A lot of the pelvic floor exercises are available online, but if you have these symptoms please TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR and see if you can get a physio referral (or investigation for underlying causes like endometriosis).

Also, my additions to posts never get reblogged so a note to my followers: this is SUPER IMPORTANT ISSUE that affects many people and is rarely talked about. Please reblog, and please share this info with as many people as possible.

Pelvic hypertonia/vaginismus is incredibly debilitating and psychologically damaging but it CAN BE TREATED. Spread the word, and you never know who you’ll be throwing a lifeline to.

Imagine that one day as you're walking on a hot sunny path, your hat jumps off your head and lands into a muddy ditch. And you look at your muddy hat and ask it: "What did you do that for?"

"I don't want to be a burden anymore", your hat answers. "You are always carrying me around, and I can't carry you. That's not fair."

"I don't mind carrying you, little idiot", you tell your hat, "you hardly weight anything at all, and you shelter me from the sun."

"But that's different", your hat protests. "I don't mind the sun scorching on me. That happens anyway. It's literally no trouble for me to shade you too."

"Just the same it's no trouble for me to carry you. But now, because you wanted to stop inconveniencing and bothering me, I am now hatless and you are in the dirt."

hello Aesop; how's the underworld been?

Every day I wake up and Hades kicks me in the nuts.

Caretaker who has kids basically adopting Whumpee as another one of them, and the kids all take their cue from that.

-whumpee watching movies that they’re definitely too old for, a toddler leaned on them. Neither of them can stay awake for the whole movie and both wake up with a blanket over their laps.

-whumpee having their nails painted and invited for tea parties with teddy bear guests, looking down at their scarred hands holding a tiny tea cup, glittery pink polish scotched over each fingertip, feeling something strange and good and sad unfurling in their chest

-kids not seeing them as anyone other than another sibling, they don’t see all the damage, all the things other people side eye and whisper about, they just see their family.

-“too cool” tween dropping the act for just a few minutes to teach whumpee how to play a video game, the two of them awkwardly slouched in beanbag chairs, playing in comfortable silence, Whumpee finally able to stop thinking, thinking, thinking and just…play.

-teenager helping them figure out what they like as far as clothes and snacks and well- everything. They’re both going through a process of figuring out who they are and who they will be, in very different ways, but trying it all out is easier together.

-whumpee being fiercely defended by all their new siblings, from the toddler that points and babbles angrily at the random neighborhood cat that spooked them to the teenager shouting down the stranger that made an off comment in the store.

-whumpee getting to be a good older sibling, finally able to be gentle and soft and indulgent of whatever “the kids” wanted, blowing bubbles on the back porch or playing cards or just, being around if they needed. Not having to constantly struggle to survive and getting to live.

Do you actually ship them or do you want them to be trapped together in a cave-in where one of them is injured and they have to talk to keep them distracted and stay sane while they wait for help, and end up opening up about their vulnerabilities and bond and then grow desperate as one starts to slip from consciousness while the other begs them to stay awake—

To all the “both is good” tags: this is an aro post asking you to question if what you really want to explore is the vulnerability and intimacy, and whether romance/sex is the only way to achieve that.

Prompt 10

"You know, I've heard that your blood contains special healing cells. That's what makea you powerful, no?" Supervillain spoke over the bruised and battered hero on their feet, who stubbornly kept silent. The villain sighed and brought the sharp point of their knife to the hero's throat. "Tell me, is that true?"

Hero looked the villain in the eye, bit their tongue and spat a fat glob of blood. The blood stained Supervillain's jacket. "Lick it and see for yourself."

Ways to trap your Whumpee

CW: Trapped, used as bait, gagged

  • Put them in a cage that's too small for them so that even if they did get out their muscles would be too stiff for them to escape
  • Lock them in the brig of a ship - surrounded by hostile crew and the endless ocean
  • Threaten/kidnap someone they love - Whumpee is trapped in a contract to do Whumper's bidding to save them
  • Stick them in a locked box-bed
  • Set a literal trap for them - they're running through the forest when suddenly a bear trap rips through their ankle, or the floor gives out and they fall into a spiked pit
  • Use BAIT - Whumpee shows up to rescue a gagged Caretaker, only for their panicked "mmmph!" to turn into "go! quick, get out of here!" Whumpee turns just as a sedative bites into their neck

Sick/recovering whumpee stuff (with Caretaker + others all living in the same house found family style)

  • Whumpee who’s so exhausted from having a hard time keeping anything down that they’re just kinda out of it and unable to hold conversations
  • Caretaker helping Whumpee bathe, stepping in more and more as their energy depletes - by the end of it they’re helping Whumpee sit upright as they gently rinse shampoo out of their hair
  • Whumpee who’s unable to express to Caretaker the relief they feel to be clean by the end of it except for hums (Caretaker can tell by how much calmer they seem afterwards)
  • Whumpee in too much pain/too exhausted to do much except lie down on the couch, but they’re so happy to just be in the living room. Caretaker and their chosen family/roomates/etc do normal house stuff and chat with each other. Whumpee’s just glad they’re not alone
  • Caretaker keeping Whumpee steady as they walk to the dining table while everyone else cooks their own meals
  • Caretaker quickly heats up some soup for Whumpee before making themselves a sandwich, knowing Whumpee takes longer to get through meals
  • When they feel well enough, Whumpee is able to eat with the rest of the group, and is tasked with dish drying duty afterwards as they can do that sitting down (and still participate in tasks)
  • Caretaker braiding Whumpee’s hair when they’re too tired to do it themselves. Being gentle but still getting all the knots out, going slower when they notice Whumpee tensing
  • Caretaker and Whumpee sitting on the bathroom floor, Caretaker talking about anything that comes to their mind. Gently filling in the silence as they wait for Whumpee’s dizziness to go away so they don’t pass out/get sick again on the way back out

Out like a Light - Whump drabble
CWs: hospitalisation, sedation, noncon drugging

~

A small, white light danced across Whumpee's vision. They groaned into the oxygen mask strapped to their face. Gloved hands pressed down firmly on the gaping wound on their stomach, and Whumpee uttered a muffled scream, their back arching off the gurney that was transporting them through the halls of the hospital. Frantic shouts assaulted their ears, but the pain clouded their senses, making it difficult to focus on any of the voices. All of a sudden, one of the voices broke through the haze in their mind.

"Relax, Whumpee! We need to get you to the OR. You need to stay still for us so we can do our job, okay?"

Whumpee realised distantly, as if their body had been moving of its own volition, that they were thrashing around on the gurney.

"Sedate them!" A voice called.

At this, they only struggled harder. A strong hand grasped their shoulder and shoved it back down onto the gurney. When Whumpee screamed, the sound was one of pure terror. However much they fought, they couldn't prevent the needle from being driven into their arm. The hands held them down for a moment longer, and then finally released Whumpee, allowing them to slump back onto their bed. The fluorescent lights above them begin to fade. Their eyelids drifted shut, and they slipped into unconsciousness.

Whumper decides to drug Teammate, but Teammate gets the syringe out of his hand and jab him with it.

And whumper is not as burly/muscular as the teammate, so the amount of the drug is potentially lethal for him.

Hero arrives to help her mostly uninjured but thoroughly pissed off team member, and also finds Whumper, burning up and delirious from the drugs he was injected with. When Hero convinces Teammate to help get Whumper (or Whumpee now, I guess) to the medics, Whumper tries to beg for mercy, but the words are so slurred hero can barely understand him.

Bonus points if the medics can't do anything, and it takes a while for the drugs to leave Whumper's system, during which time he nearly dies. When the drugs are leaving his system, he wakes up, but with none of his usual arrogant attitude. He's blubbering about how sorry he is, and please don't drug him again, he promises to be good.

ah, some good ol' drug whump

  • classic symptoms of drugs and drug withdrawal: hot flashes, anxiety, panic attacks, restlessness, irritability, fatigue, poor appetite, insomnia, poor concentration, poor memory, headaches, dizziness, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, racing heart, stomach aches, muscle tension, twitches, tremors, shakes, muscle aches, sweating, tingling
  • all of that is pretty whumpy and makes for a good combination of things
  • whumperee is stranded in this haze of fear and pain and delirium
  • the others don't show him any sympathy since he was going to do this exact thing to their teammate, though they don't take into account how it's affecting whumperee more because the dosage was adjusted for teammate's body size and not whumperee's, meaning that it wouldn't have been this bad on teammate
  • whumperee is sick for days on end and has to be constantly monitored and given fluids to prevent dehydration
  • whumperee thinks they're dying and gets so scared and starts sobbing hysterically
  • at the end of it, whumperee is so weak and frail from everything and they can barely move with how achey they are from shivering for days on end and getting barely any sleep

Begging

  • “Please, don’t…”
  • “I’ll do anything.”
  • “Okay, okay! I’ll do it!”
  • “Don’t do this.”
  • “I will tell you anything you want.”
  • “Stop. Please.”
  • “I’ll never do it again!”
  • “What do I have to do to make this stop?”
  • “I’ll be good.”
  • “Don’t make me do this.”
  • “I can’t help you.”
  • “Why are you doing this?”
  • “I’m begging you.”
  • “Have mercy…”
  • “I’ll never disobey again.”
  • pushing up to knees under great effort to beg
  • barely able to press out words in between sobs and shivers
  • dragged up by hair and asked to repeat their pleas
  • offering alternatives to the worst torture: “You can break every bone in my body, just not… this. Please.”
  • blurting out information without even being asked to, because maybe it’ll distract them

(Whumpuary 2026, Day 11: “please”)

"Im fine, i swear i..m .... ok (passes out)"

+ medic that's too used to this kinda thing

  1. "[Muttering, mocking] Oh, it's just an itty bitty stab wound, I can take it, I don't need my blood!"
  2. "That is the last time I listen to anything you say."
  3. "Yeah. That's one way to comply with a 'sit down' order."
  4. "Right! Now that they're finally unconscious and can't deny care, let's get to work actually saving their life!"
  5. "Mhm. Say that again? Oh, yeah. You can't talk. I wonder why."

Personal whumperflies tropes

  • Self-sacrifice! Especially if it's prolonged, Whumpee can turn around at any moment, but they choose to go with Whumper to protect their team.
  • "Kneel", "Turn around and face the wall", basically all the phrases that require Whumpee to cooperate.
  • The word "punishment".
  • Stoic whumpee enduring a painful medical procedure.
  • Whumper slowly preparing the tools to torture Whumpee.
  • Whumpee trying to steel themself for what is coming.
  • Forced to watch.
  • Also the one being watched accepting their fate, or even begging the other(s) not to reveal anything.
  • Whumpee trying to hold back their screams.
  • "Uh, uh, uh. We're not done yet."
  • "Do you need a reminder?" and other vague threats.
  • Forcing Whumpee to choose an implement with which they will be hurt.
  • Just defiant and/or stoic whumpees in general. Also, Leader whumpees.

///my English sucks, sorry

!!SA mention!!

Stoic Whumpee who has endured prolonged and severe abuse (torture, possibly rape) at the hands of Whumper, losing their ability to speak either partially or completely forever. For instance, Whumper might have ripped out Whumpee's tongue with red-hot tongs.

After being rescued, maimed and weakened Whumpee falls into the care of Caretaker. If Whumpee doesn't trust them, they flinch from their touch, growl and hiss at them. They feel humiliated. They're angry because they're expecting violence from Caretaker. It's also terrifying for that same reason. They try to say something but only produce incoherent sounds, more animalistic than human. They think they sound like a foolish savage, getting angrier about it and maybe crying.

If Whumpee does trust Caretaker, then they behave calmer and don't act aggressively. They allow Caretaker to help, although not immediately since it's still scary for them. They are ashamed that Caretaker sees them in this state and hears these pathetic attempts at speech.

Regardless of how Whumpee behaves, Caretaker shows absolute patience and tenderness towards them. They strive to help Whumpee by bathing them, treating their wounds. Caretaker tells them that everything is over now, and nobody will ever hurt them again.

If Whumpee allows it, Caretaker gently strokes their head, cheeks, or back while watching Whumpee’s reactions. They always respond to any short phrases or questions Whumpee utters (if Caretaker can make out what Whumpee is trying to say). And under no circumstances do they mock how helpless Whumpee appears.
