Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records

The Alzano Empire is home to one of the most distinguished magic schools in the world: the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy. Here, ambitious young students undergo training to become competent magicians. Sistine Fibel—a stern noble girl—and her bright-eyed best friend Rumia Tingel attend the Academy, determined to cultivate their magical skills.

However, their world is thrown for a loop when their favorite teacher suddenly retires and the enigmatic Glenn Radars replaces him. His lazy and indifferent attitude toward life and magic quickly puts him at odds with his class. What's more, nefarious forces hidden within the empire's walls start to become active, and Sistine, Rumia, and Glenn find themselves caught up in their schemes.

Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records follows Sistine, who is captivated by a mysterious floating Sky Castle; Rumia, who is haunted by a troubled past; and Glenn, who may be more than meets the eye. Though completely different on the surface, they are inexplicably bound together by a thread of fate.

Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records was honestly such a pleasant surprise for me. I went into it with huge expectations, bit turned out to be absolutely amazing and even more than I expected. The mix of comedy, magic, action, and emotional moments worked so well together that I was hooked almost immediately. Glenn, especially, is such a fun and interesting character, he starts off looking lazy and unreliable, but the more you watch, the more you realize how much depth he actually has. The world-building is engaging, the magic system is cool, and the story keeps a really nice balance between lighthearted moments and ... more serious scenes. I found myself genuinely enjoying every episode, and by the end I was completely invested in the characters and their relationships. Overall, it’s a fantastic anime that left me smiling, excited, and wanting more. I really loved it.

Mixed Feelings

It has it's moments but it's pretty average overall.
I took a long break after watching the first 2 episodes, and now just finished it.
It felt both Rushed and Dragged out at the same time.
We've only really scratched the surface of the actual "story" the whole season feels like a prologue. But at that the same time the actual episode and story arcs feel somewhat rushed and predictable, like all the answer become clear right away. It's very predictable.
I'd say the world building and characters is probably it's strongest side... but even the characters are real up and down, even though I like the few characters ... that they do develop, overall all the "character drama" feels stupid and mostly just a lack of communication.
Without spoilers "the moment with the mother, and the moment with the brother" in particular.
Also apart from that the author/creator is weird AF lol, like the designs are wild, and there's multiple "kinky" things in both designs and moments in the show itself that are very much "suspicious". I mean the characters even straight up call it out at some point.
So I guess if nothing else the Author is just that shameless.
Oh and apart from a few characters most other characters are pretty empty, and I was disappointing to see that the moment the arc of certain character was over they just kind of returned to being a bland background character.
So even if you have fairly well written characters when there's really only 2~3 being put energy into at the time it ends up still feeling very empty and lacking.
It has potential, and maybe the manga is better, but I can not give this show as it is higher than a 6.

This is totally pointless, there's still funny scenes here and there and animation is good. But besides that there's nothing that makes it stand out, story is pretty generic and bland.

It's like a wannabe GTO mixed with fantasy, but you have no reason to care about any character and there's little to no development even though they want to make things very romantically tense.

Magic system is also very generic, even the whole class characters are generic.

Do not waste your time with this. It's not even similar to trash Isekai where you know it's bad but it's somehow enjoyable. Maybe if they skipped to ... the real meat of the story ( The titular akashic records) it could've been interesting.

As is, I don't even know why I watched the whole thing. It's rather watch the vending machine Isekai than this half baked generic bland fantasy.
