Pupa

Abandoned by their abusive parents and with only each other to depend on, siblings Utsutsu and Yume Hasegawa find themselves led astray by beautiful red butterflies that have appeared in their world. Unbeknownst to them, these crimson winged heralds trumpet the beginning of a cannibalistic nightmare—a mysterious virus known as Pupa is about to hatch.

After succumbing to the full effects of Pupa, Yume undergoes a grotesque metamorphosis into a monstrous creature with an insatiable desire for flesh; Utsutsu, on the other hand, is only partially affected, gaining remarkable regenerative powers instead. Reaffirming the resolve to keep the promise he made to himself years ago, Utsutsu is willing to sacrifice everything in order to always be there for his precious little sister.

Pupa tells the story of a loving brother's desperate struggles to save his sister while protecting the world from her uncontrollable hunger.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

To be frank, those four words sum up this show better than anything else could ever hope to. It has cannibalism, very odd almost incestuous moments between the main characters, has a "plot" that goes literally ***NOWHERE*** and ends on a episode that they pulled out their asses to explain... drumroll please... seriously... HOW THE MAIN GIRL GOT HER ***FUCKING*** HAIR PIN. I'm not even kidding, also one episode is literally just 3 minutes of the girl eating her brother... and it's really fucking horrible. So, why am I recommending this? Well I'll certainly tell you something, you watch this and you'll ... never rate anything lower than a 1 again! In other words, by watching something this GOD AWFUL you can enjoy other things far more! Also I'm convinced whoever fucking came up with this is not a real human, but instead a alien overlord sent here to weaken the human race before invasion.

- Literally has a story that goes FUCKING NOWHERE and is NEVER EXPLAINED! Because naturally, you understand where this random virus or whatever comes from called "Pupa" and you obviously understand why it turns people into freakish monsters that honestly upon seeing for the first time make you burst out laughing. And then vomit five minutes later when you see how ***FUCKING EXTREME*** the gore on this show is. Like no, I don't fancy seeing someone have their skin ripped off as they ***MOAN*** like they're in some FUCKING HENTAI!
- Animation, honestly... was not the ***WORST*** thing I've seen. But, I refuse to be generous and not slander everything in this show so I don't care. Also even giving this Violet Evergarden levels of animation would've only made things worse...
- Characters! Literally all of these characters (bar the main pair... maybe?) are complete mysterious, you watch this and you definitely start questioning your existence and why in the FUCK you watched it. But... that's the thing, in some sick twisted way, the show has achieved something! It's left you scarred, it's made an impression. Go ahead, name all those hyper generic seasonal isekai you've seen lately, you can't? Oh right, because they're all the same and super forgettable. NOW THIS! This will stick to you like gum on the bottom of your shoe, only instead of gum it's a freakish incestuous cannibalistic monster and her equally freakish regenerative brother!

So! Again, ***why*** would you watch this? I mean I've gone through all the terrible things about it, and now I'll say why even with all this shit it's worth a watch... literally, I don't care how you do it. Take shots everytime you see something disgusting (good luck getting through the first/maybe second episode), sit with some friends or stream online, because this unironically has potential to be the most vomit-inducing slop that you'll naturally want to share with those dear to you!

Mixed Feelings

I randomly discovered this anime, and I don't think it's that bad, but it obviously isn't good either.
I was very shocked by the gore tbh. I didn't read the synopsis or anything like that so, that completely caught me off guard. Another thing I didn't really like was the fact the episodes were only 4 minutes. I wasn't sure about the anime starting, but I honestly think it had potential. It's got a good story line (to me at least).
I heard that the manga makes more sense than the anime so, I plan on reading that to make sense of whatever the heck that ... anime was supposed to be.
P.S. I don't know about other people, but to me some of the scenes seemed kind of incest-ly and it's gross.

The manga is a complete story which this anime rushes through the beginning of cramming in most of the main scenes. None of what it introduces has any payoff as it ends abruptly as nothing more than manga-bait. The manga itself isn't much better having pretty much all of the same problems haphazardly overextending itself across a bunch of noncharacter non-plotlines while stretching out the 1-note plot.

There's nothing really in the anime that would spoil the manga since it's more or less the same random progression of events for what it does show. If you don't enjoy the anime, then you likely won't enjoy the ... manga either, the resolutions it provides are all boring and pointless.

This anime is an extremely boring 1-note waste of time nonstory. The generic nonimagery and gore is boring, low effort.
There's nothing confusing about this series, it just does nothing and has no depth. It draws out every nonscene of its 1-note nonstory of filler across 36 min of scenes and 12 min of OP/ED.

Plot: Siblings already infected with monster disease causing the girl to be a cannibal and the boy to be a regenerating meat source for her in a bunch of episode long (3min) boring cannibal torture porn scenes. The end.

There's also a pointless subplot of a witchy lady researching the disease, which goes literally nowhere except that she randomly impregnates herself with their sperm/egg for pointless ecchi before never having another scene.

There's also another pointless subplot of another researcher group of generic G-men who abduct them to do further boring torture porn via dissection before all the G-men die pointlessly from not reasonably preparing for exactly what they had to have expected to happen, nothing comes of this, cut back to more pointlessly gratuitous boring school life cannibal torture porn.

There's also a half-assed backstory of their parents being abusive for unexplained reasons (later shown in the manga) in which they already knew the daughter was a cannibal monster from before being born. This of course goes nowhere just flashing back to the same on-the-nose 'aboose!' 1-note over and over. But I suppose one can point out the boring 1-note cannibalistic monster siblings situation parallels the domestic abuse situation in a very pointlessly redundant way.

The OP was decent music.
