Boku no Hero Academia 3rd Season

As summer arrives for the students at UA Academy, each of these superheroes-in-training puts in their best efforts to become renowned heroes. They head off to a forest training camp run by UA's pro heroes, where the students face one another in battle and go through dangerous tests, improving their abilities and pushing past their limits. However, their school trip is suddenly turned upside down when the League of Villains arrives, invading the camp with a mission to capture one of the students.

Boku no Hero Academia 3rd Season follows Izuku "Deku" Midoriya, an ambitious student training to achieve his dream of becoming a hero similar to his role model—All Might. Being one of the students caught up amidst the chaos of the villain attack, Deku must take a stand with his classmates and fight for their survival.

This was honestly an anime I didn’t want to touch at first. Everywhere I looked, there were spoilers. And when a few people told me it was “boring” or “not that good,” I was even less motivated to start it. But when I finally gave it a chance, I was pleasantly surprised. The animation is gorgeous (and trust me, I’m a huge critic when it comes to animation), the character relationships are so well‑built, and the overall story is just… perfect. It’s original, emotional, and full of moments that hit way harder than you expect. Sure, some people say it gets “boring” at times, ... but honestly? Even during the slower parts, I kept looking forward to the next episode. And the sequels? I was hyped every single time.

Mixed Feelings

5.5/10 ~ better then S2, worse then S1

MHA was a show with a really strong start in S1 and then kinda fell off imo. S2 was pretty disappointing but S3 did step it up a bit. Which is funny because originally I dropped the show when it was airing around the time Slain got captured and all I recall hearing from m y peers about the show is about how bad Season 3 was and that they wish they dropped the show all together, in 2025 I dont know a single person that is still watching this seasonally because everyone dropped the show between S3-5. ...

After watching all of Season 1-3, + the first 2 movies. I now understand what must have happened. MHA does something kinda well for a Shonen specifically which is mix the emotional aspects of the show, intertwined with the fights and level ups. But the emotional aspects of the show sit in this weird category where I feel like its too emotional for the general Shonen crowd (IE: the target demo that is Teen/Pre-teen boys) But is simultaneously not mature enough for the adult crowd that are probably now into seinen or w.e, not to mention too violent for kids, and tackling touch topics like morality for children. I recall many people saying S3 was so "boring", after S2 that just jumped into a stupid tournament arch and featured the best boy Slain. Where S3 dives much deeper into character growth and the emotional aspect of the show with far far less fighting.

But at the end of the day, its still a Shonen and im forsure in the "too old for this shit" category. I mostly enjoy the semi political aspects and the moral questions the show really does a poor job of asking. As I said in my previous 2 reviews if I didnt need extremely mid show to watch while working I would never have made it past the mid point of Season 1.

That being said I think this show is pretty decent as a 1st anime, and probably great for kids between 10-16's

In my opinion this is the weakest season of MHA so far.

Boku no Hero Academia 3rd Season

And here we come to the point where MHA, unfortunately, announces its downfall. Here the viewer again becomes terribly aware of how generic this series actually is and how little value is placed on variety and creativity.
-Don't get me wrong, I'm still a big fan of the series and love every single episode, but you can't ignore something like this.

This season begins with a training trip into the wilderness, so that the students of classes A and B, find out their own strengths and try to compensate for ... their weaknesses. But the villains know about this excursion and ambush them, resulting in a (not) epic battle. Perhaps it was better in the manga, but in the anime, its pacing was very slow and lacked momentum. The attack of the villains was not convincing at all.


What surprised me more, though, was their goal and what that resulted in. Although you might think that Bakugo is actually more like a "villain" than a "hero", here again, his will was demonstrated why he wants to be a hero after all. And that this fight resulted in the clash between All Might and All For One, no one could have seen this coming. Who builds in a fight against the final antagonist in the third season? This was indeed surprising, even if the course of the fight had been a bit stretched and lacked dynamics. Not to mention the final blow of All Might, cliché but convincing.


So far it wasn't actually that bad, it was "Average". But what awaited me after the fight was torture. By far the most boring and monotonous School Arc in the series. Not only was it uninteresting, but the pacing was also slow and there were almost no entertaining moments, even for me. If I could, I would have almost skipped this arc.

There were no notable additions on the part of the main characters this season. Instead, you got a decent presentation of the villains and slight hints of their "special" relationship. Later on, there are far better developments on the part of the antagonists, which impresses me a lot about the series.


[Conclusion 4]

A continuing decently entertaining season with a heavy aftertaste. Both animations have slackened here, as well as the pacing has become very slow. For a shounen fan, however, this is more than enough to get by. However, if someone is here for the story and plot, this season becomes a very heavy project.
