Sakamoto Days Part 2

The legendary former hitman Tarou Sakamoto has thwarted numerous assassins after an enormous bounty on his head was issued. But he cannot seem to catch a break and simply take it easy with his beloved family. A mysterious and infamous figure known as Slur has brought a group of insane death row inmates to Japan, who hold back from nothing to eliminate their targets.

Sakamoto is not the only target—the criminals have been assigned to kill various other people, including the new hires at Sakamoto's convenience store, Shin Asakura and Lu Shaotang. The situation escalates even further when the Order, a group of the most skilled Japanese assassins, becomes involved. As the inmates begin wreaking havoc, Sakamoto and his allies must remain vigilant for the sake of everything they hold dear.

had low expectations for this considering the first season was pretty uneventful, but I'm pleasantly surprised!!!

this season sets up the premise for what I assume will be the meat of the whole plot, and we get to know a some new characters (akira, mafuyu) as well as the villains - slur & gaku, etc.

character wise:
the other side-characters introduced are still pretty surface-level though, and unfortunately because of that; I'm only interested in the shin and the order. the author should spend more time developing the characters of the main protags, rather than adding repetitive side characters.

other than that, the fights were whole ... ass upgrade from s1, I especially enjoyed nagumo's, osaragi's and the fight between mafuyu & shin. oh and there was quite a bit of gore in this season. overall, plot is shifting to something interesting, and I can't wait to see more fights between the order.

Mixed Feelings

Season 2 started off well, continuing the event of the attack by the major assassins.
Five consecutive episodes full of action and suspense made the anime enjoyable. Unlike the first season, the fast pacing and fights were actually beneficial, as they reduced the focus on the weak main characters due to their limited screen time.

In the second half, the assassin academy entrance exam was fun, but the comedic tone overshadowed the intensity of the battles.

The side characters were good, especially the old swordsman and Osaragi.
The old swordsman, without any dialogue, delivered an impressive fight and even made the main enemy retreat.
Osaragi, with her cold personality, strange ... way of thinking, and physical strength, provided a good fight and enjoyable dialogue with the assassin.

The most prominent negative point is the comedic or superficial tone of the story’s world. Historical and tourist landmarks were destroyed without any consequences, even though battles are supposed to be secret.
In the second half, the announcement of the assassin training academy was made openly with brochures and flyers, which ruined the secrecy of the organization. There should have been coded messages for assassination missions, not normal advertisements like any public event.

The entrance exam itself was a joke: no secrecy, very weak supervisors, and no planning behind the testing methods—everything existed just for comedy. Compared to the Hunter Exam in Hunter × Hunter and the Chunin Exams in Naruto, the weak writing becomes clear.

As for the poor writing or depiction of fights, I expected that from the studio, but after checking the manga it turned out to come from the original author. The characters are drawn repeating the same motion over and over until the final blow.
This style eliminates the feeling of fast movement in combat.

أيام ساكاموتو - الموسم الثاني

بدأ الموسم الثاني بدايةً موفقة، مستكملاً أحداث هجوم القتلة المحترفين.
خمس حلقات متتالية حافلة بالإثارة والتشويق جعلت الأنمي ممتعاً. على عكس الموسم الأول، كان الإيقاع السريع والمعارك مفيدة، إذ قللت من التركيز على الشخصيات الرئيسية الضعيفة بسبب قلة ظهورهم على الشاشة.

في النصف الثاني، كان امتحان القبول في أكاديمية القتلة ممتعاً، لكن الطابع الكوميدي طغى على حدة المعارك.

كانت الشخصيات الثانوية جيدة، وخاصة المبارز العجوز وأوساراغي.
قدّم المبارز العجوز، دون أي حوار، قتالاً مثيراً للإعجاب حتى أنه أجبر العدو الرئيسي على التراجع.

أما أوساراغي، بشخصيتها الباردة وطريقة تفكيرها الغريبة وقوتها البدنية، فقد قدمت قتالاً جيداً وحواراً ممتعاً مع القاتل.

أبرز السلبيات هو الطابع الكوميدي أو السطحي لعالم القصة. فقد دُمرت معالم تاريخية وسياحية دون أي عواقب، على الرغم من أن المعارك يفترض أن تكون سرية.

في النصف الثاني، تم الإعلان عن أكاديمية تدريب القتلة علنًا عبر منشورات ونشرات دعائية، مما أفسد سرية المنظمة. كان من المفترض استخدام رسائل مشفرة لمهام الاغتيال، بدلًا من الإعلانات العادية كأي فعالية عامة.

كان امتحان القبول نفسه مهزلة: لا سرية، مشرفون ضعفاء للغاية، ولا تخطيط لأساليب الاختبار - كل شيء كان مجرد كوميديا. بالمقارنة مع امتحان الصيادين في Hunter × Hunter واختبارات تشونين في Naruto، يتضح ضعف الكتابة جليًا.

أما بالنسبة لضعف الكتابة أو تصوير المعارك، فقد توقعت ذلك من الاستوديو، لكن بعد مراجعة المانغا، تبين أنه من المؤلف الأصلي. حيث يرسم الشخصية وهي تتحرك بشكل متكرر حتى تقوم بالضربة النهائيه .
هذا الأسلوب يُفقد المشاهد إحساسه بالحركة السريعة في القتال.

It's like seeing a completely different show, and with an improvising plot.

In the end of season 1 they set the expectation of Sakamoto fighting some bosses, but that is resolved in a couple of episodes while they are downplayed in the plot, they were not really that important, just a distraction for yet another plotline that is resolved yet again in a couple of episodes to set up another plotline....They also keep introducing new characters that have like 2 minute of screen time because they are constantly killed, or they simply stop appearing just because, they got depressed and move on to the next one.

The ... tone of the previous season is lost, Sakamoto's family and his ties are mostly missing, they are not part of the plot but a macguffin to justify him doing things.

The main characters are mostly missing, they set up new characters in the mid season which I'm not invested on.

It's like they put up things constantly in screen, big punches, tons of characters, tons of plotlines....expecting to amaze the audience or something, instead of writing a consistent plot with a nice arc for the characters.
