Kizetsu Yuusha to Ansatsu Hime

The shy Hero fainting. Well this much is ceirtanly clear.

I don't know what's up with these comedy centered anime and the characters inside them having some of the most ridiculously tragic backstories,but it's not that i mind. As long as the character actually uses that groundowork. Well,do they? Eh.... So-so.

The animation in this one is not bad at all. But it's doesn't have to show all that much either. The short fight with the old man was where it peaked.The Divine beast boogaloo wasn't bad either in that aspect.

Now... let's adress the biggest weakness of this show. The MC. Zero personality, confusing motivations,and OP to ... boot. A walking plot device that only helps the journey continue. Because there's not really any story either(the other issue,not as big though). I mean they could've kept the main gimmick while also giving Toto an actual personality.But they did compensate by giving the girls all the personality.Ciel is the best and most likeable character of the three. And on that note..... There's no ammount of convincing that can persuade me about Goa.An intrestring character but a horrible person. I mean you can attempt a redemption but it ain't gonna work . Gods only know how many people she already hit with that reset button.

As i've already mentioned, there's not much of a story.The show focuses on the journey and what that journey unveils about the characters and their goals and motivations. "Is any of that worth it" kind of deal. To that extent it does a decent enough job,even though they hit that switch up real hard in the last episodes. To that extent a 7 rating really hits the sweet spot. It doesn't do much, but what it does it does well. But anything above required a story to supplement the journey.And anything below required... quite a lot.I do have to praise them for sticking with at least half the gimmick to the end.

All in all,it's an allright show. You could spend your time watching far worse,but looking hard enough will yield better shows. Recommended.

'The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses' is quite the guilty pleasure. It's a visual feast as far as one's lust goes, but sadly, the story leaves a lot to be desired.


§ Overview

Toto the hero dreams of numerous adventures. The problem is that he is too shy to form a party. One day, three beautiful women approached him to form a party.

These beautiful princesses are actually assassins. Ciel Zebul is the daughter of the current demon lord. Anemone is an assassin for hire. Goa is a seductress, specialising in poisons.

Their mission is to kill Toto. Each woman competes with the other to see who will ... kill him first...or perhaps something else.


§ Studio and Staff

Its studio, Connect, is a subsidiary of Silver Link. It used to be a separate entity, but since 2020, it has been absorbed by Silver Link. Its identity as Connect is used whenever Connect staff is making an anime for Silver Link.

Regardless, 'The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses' is the first anime from this studio I've seen.


⚫ The director, Akitaya Noriaki, is also the director of the first season of 'Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon.' I wasn't impressed by his two works.

⚫ I checked the differences between the character designs in the manga made by Setsuda Yukiji, and the character designs in the anime, which was made by character designer Sano Takao.

Both have similar character designs. It's just that it seems they made the hero, Toto, more buff, reflecting how flat he is as a character compared to the manga's design of being a decently handsome guy with a lean physique. He is the stereotypical muscle-bound character who barely uses his brain.

Regardless, they have decent character designs.


§ Everything Else

1. I like how sexy the ladies are. Their sexiness, save for the loli Ciel, reminds me of the Misu sisters from 'Bakuretsu Hunters.'

Since the hero, Toto, is a flat but overpowered character, this anime reminds me of Tenchi Muyou. In both anime, the protagonists are flat but overpowered characters. Both protagonists are not interesting by themselves. The attraction is the ladies.

These assassin princesses start the anime wanting to kill him. Instead, they end up falling for him, which is expected of harem anime.


2. Contrary to stereotypes, these ladies have depth, if we consider their backstories as well as their motivations. That's why they are compelling as characters.


3. Sadly, the story leaves a lot to be desired. It has no overarching purpose to speak of. It seems you only watch this anime for the jokes and the sexy ladies rather than anything substantial.


4. In fairness, the assassin princesses grow as characters, meaning it is implicitly acknowledged that they want to be part of his party despite being explicit that they haven't abandoned their goal of killing him. The degree to which you like these ladies is the degree to which you can tolerate the lack of story.


§ Conclusion

This is quite a guilty pleasure. I love these sexy ladies. I just can't help but have mixed feelings due to how lacking the story is.


NOTA BENE: A grade of 4 out of 10 means I got some enjoyment out of this anime, but the issues are glaring, or simply I rank it higher than my 3's but below my 5's.

My enjoyment spectrum lies from 4 to 10. If I have scored an anime below 4, I actively dislike it.

Kizetsu Yuusha to Ansatsu Hime – The Hero Who Faints Harder Than My WiFi

Sometimes, anime feels like it’s made by people who genuinely want to tell a story. Other times… it feels like someone smashed random tropes together in a blender and just prayed the audience wouldn’t notice. Kizetsu Yuusha to Ansatsu Hime proudly belongs to the second category.

Let’s start with Toto, our illustrious “hero.” On paper, he’s insanely overpowered punching dragons the size of skyscrapers into paste with his bare hands in episode one. Impressive, right? Except, the moment a girl says “hi,” my guy collapses harder than the show’s script quality. This isn’t ... a shy hero; this is a Windows XP laptop overheating at the sight of cleavage.

And the heroines? Oh boy. If you thought maybe they’d balance out Toto’s nonsense, think again:

Demon Lord’s daughter loli – because apparently every “fantasy adventure” needs at least one party member that puts you on an FBI watchlist.

Big oppai assassin disguised as a priestess – because who needs stealth when your cover story screams “fanservice side quest”?

Your typical Blonde Girl – because if you’re going to assassinate someone, obviously you want maximum jiggle physics instead of actual armor.

Together, they don’t feel like assassins. They feel like the casting lineup of a discount fantasy AV shoot.

they had the audacity to sell this as an “adventure.” Adventure where? The pacing moves slower than a Windows XP update, and every scene feels like it was written during a lunch break. Characters don’t develop they just exist as living billboards for body types. Plot? Dead on arrival. This isn’t storytelling, it’s a PowerPoint presentation of bad tropes with voice acting.

By episode 2, the show should’ve been retitled:

> “Kizetsu Yuusha: From Dragon Slayer to Walking Virgin Joke.”

This anime isn’t shy. It’s not quirky. It’s not even “so bad it’s good.” It’s just embarrassing. If the studio wanted to make a comedy, they should’ve doubled down and actually written jokes. If they wanted a serious story, they should’ve committed. Right now, it feels like a half-baked parody of itself.

The only thing this anime successfully assassinated was my brain cells.
