Thoughts on Winter 2017
Anime Relations: Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2, Kuzu no Honkai, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen, Masamune-kun no Revenge, Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen, Seiren, Gintama., Rewrite 2nd Season
Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen:
Awkward beginning with the massive retcon of the last several episodes of the first season but that was to be expected. I like how this season was more focused on character development even if it meant the pacing was a little slow. The development for Rin and Bon were especially great. The updated art style was really nice. 7/10Gintama.:
Opening is definitely a little spoiler heavy but as a manga reader I already know what's going to happen anyway. The pacing felt a little fast at times but it was still a great season. Loved how they focused more on Kagura's family and the final battle against Kamui was amazing! Katsura's battle was also really great stuff but I couldn't care for Gintoki's fight against the three eyed guy. I really hope that the final arc gets animated. 8/10Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2:
First season was hilarious and while I didn't enjoy this season quite as much it was still really enjoyable. This season made me like Darkness significantly more and the animation for the final episode was surprisingly good. I wish there was more screen time for Megumin tho. This made me read the LNs which were also very enjoyable. I hope there is a season 3! 7/10Kuzu no Honkai:
I love the atmosphere/art/music. Characters are interesting and aren't just straight forward but at times do feel a bit unrealistic. Love and sex really can over complicate things and I'm glad that the characters are aware of this fact. Fuck the cuck teacher. Ending had me satisfied and didn't feel really cliche. 6/10Masamune-kun no Revenge:
Pretty meh beginning with characters that I don't really like. Trap and loli mother are painfully unnecessary. They tried to make the characters did become more likeable later on but it wasn't too effective. It felt like nothing really happened at the end but at least we still managed to get a kiss. 4/10Rewrite Moon/Terra:
Really strong beginning. They actually did a decent job of adapting the moon route. Second opening was hype! Loved how they did the overseas stuff. Sadly the last few episodes were rushed and they didn't do the Esaka stuff much justice but overall much better than the first season. 7/10Seiren:
First arc was incredibly meh with an extremely bland MC who I absolutely hated. Dropped after episode 4. 2/10Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen:
This made me like the MC and the cast a lot more than I did at the beginning of the first season. The opening was beautiful and the ending for Yakumo was beautifully done. Mixed feelings on Shinnosuke's father in the last episode. 8/10Favourite Opening

Thoughts on Fall 2016
Anime Relations: Drifters, Keijo!!!!!!!!, Haikyuu!! Karasuno Koukou vs. Shiratorizawa Gakuen Koukou, Occultic;Nine, Ajin Part 2
Ajin Second Season:
A strong beginning with a meh op. Started going downhill once the anime original stuff started kicking with the American agents who were just a complete waste of time. Strategies felt simplistic and Kei's development was forced. Second opening was really enjoyable compared to the first. Satou was still greatness. Finale was really enjoyable but it could've been a little more conclusive.7/10Drifters:
I felt like majority of the historical references flew over my head and the comedy was very hit and miss. Characters are meh and the story while has potential but didn't have enough episodes for that potential to be shown. Planning on watching the second season when it comes out but from what I have heard about the source material and how often it gets released it won't be even possible for a few years.5/10Haikyuu!!: Season 3:
Definitely AOTY for me. You would think that 10 episodes of the same match would get boring really quickly but each episodes keeps being very entertaining and intense. Shiratorizawa was a cool team. Tendo was definitely the most entertaining. Loved his voice. Ushijima was just ok. He was op but was pretty boring overall. Tsukki was definitely the MVP of this match. 9/10Keijo!!!!!!!!:
First episode was one of the most rushed episodes of all time but I can forgive it since it adapted the east west war arc. Fights are ridiculous fun and they kept getting crazier and crazier. Characters are fun and the story is solid. Too bad this sold so badly because I really would love to see a second season. 7/10Occult;Nine:
This series tried to fit in way too much information in too little time. I couldn't really remember any of the characters names until about halfway through because of how much information it was throwing at me. The random camera angles didn't improve the anime at all. I could never get over those ridiculous boobs either. Why they made them so big I have no idea. At least it had a great title drop. 3/10Favourite Opening

Thoughts on Summer 2016
Anime Relations: Rewrite, Nanatsu no Taizai: Seisen no Shirushi, Arslan Senki (TV): Fuujin Ranbu, Mob Psycho 100, Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen - Mirai-hen, Shokugeki no Souma: Ni no Sara, D.Gray-man Hallow, Berserk, Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen - Zetsubou-hen, Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen - Kibou-hen
Arslan Senki Fuujin Ranbu:
It has a strong start but the ending to the arc was painfully predictable and slightly underwhelming. It was still fun to watch. The cliffhanger at the end of the season made me wanting more. It's tragic that it only has 8 episodes. I need that season 3 ASAP! 6/10Berserk (2016):
I'm salty that they skipped the lost children arc. I can understand why they did but they really didn't handle it well. After the 3rd episode the adaptation was pretty loyal but direction was weak and CGI looked terrible. The constant clang sound effects really annoyed me. Although even with the amount of flaws with the adaptation I still enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to season 2. 6/10Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Despair Arc:
So happy seeing my favourite character Chiaki in anime form. Although I was terrified with what was going to happen to her. The early episode had some great comedy and the later episodes made me fall into despair. Some people thought the explanation with what happened was too BS but I was fine with it. Although that's probably because I had pretty low expectations to begin with. 7/10Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Future Arc:
This did a decent job at making me guess who the mastermind was. I really liked how this intertwined with the despair arc and gave development to the majority of it's characters. Even characters that I hated early on I ended up liking at the end. Only character I didn't like was Ruruka. Action was fun to watch. Although the ending was underwhelming with the mastermind explanation.7/10 Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Hope Arc:
Not the most satisfying ending ever but it was still decent enough. Seeing the characters come back for one last time was fun to watch. Based Cure W saved the day! 7/10D-Gray Man Hallow:
New art style was a bit weird at first but I got used to it quickly enough. Didn't care too much about the first arc but the rest was great. Kanda's flashback was definitely the strongest part of this anime. Sadly the animation was pretty weak which was disappointing. Ended pretty strong and left me desperately wanting more. Sadly the manga is so slow with it's updates that I can't find the motivation to pick up. Still a pretty decent sequel. 7/10Mob Psycho 100:
The first episode was pretty weak but it definitely improved from there. Mob is a great character and the rest of the cast was enjoyable as well. Fuck Reigen. Some people seemed to love him but I find him annoying and he really wasn't funny at all. Although he did improve somewhat in the final few episodes. Loving the art and animation in this series. Bones kept true to the art style which I really appreciate. Opening is my favourite of the season. 8/10Nanatsu no Taizai: Seisen no Shirushi:
Really meh. The only bits that was really worth watching we're the post credit scenes. Rest belonged in the trash. 5/10Rewrite:
Checked out the VN before watching this anime and I really enjoyed it. The common route stuff was about as mediocre as I expected it to be. I was hoping it would improve once we got into the anime original stuff but it didn't. It felt like a clusterfuck of ideas trying to combine different elements from all of the herione routes so the anime could stand on it's own but it really did not work that well. Art/animation were meh and CGI looked terrible. Anime Kagari was the best part of this anime. I'm hoping that the 2nd season will be an improvement. 5/10Shokugeki no Souma 2: Ni no Sara:
This adaptation is really fast compared to the first season but I'm still really enjoying it. These matches are pretty predictable but are still really exciting to see. The last few episodes were a breath of fresh air after the constant cooking matches we got. 7/10Favourite Opening

Thoughts on Spring 2016
Anime Relations: Koutetsujou no Kabaneri, Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, Gyakuten Saiban: Sono "Shinjitsu", Igi Ari!, Magi: Sinbad no Bouken (TV), Boku no Hero Academia, Sousei no Onmyouji, Sakamoto desu ga?
Ace Attorney:
Been dreaming of this series getting an anime adaptation for a long time. For such an amazing series this is getting treated poorly. Art and animation is just lazy and the opening is painfully generic. Comedy could have been done a lot better. This is pretty much a watered down version of the games. People are better of sticking with the games. 4/10Boku no Hero Academia:
Bones did an amazing job adapting this. Wasn't really expecting much from this first season after reading the manga but Bones really blew me away. Enjoyed this a lot more than the manga. I still found Midoriya to be annoying early on with the constant crying but the rest of the cast made up for this. So happy that this series is getting a season 2! Although the pacing did feel a little slow with too much padding put there just to fill the episodes. Hopefully this get remedied in the second season. 7/10Koutetsujou no Kabaneri:
Started off enjoyable it went badly down hill after Biba was introduced. His entire motivations as a villain were retarded and needed further explaining. The main cast were alright. I liked Mumei and how badass she was but she really does not look like she's 12. Ikoma was meh. It feels like he just spends the entire series shouting. The dude who liked speaking random English words was the best character. I wished he had more screen time in the second half. Same with back muscles girl. The art/animation/OST were all really great but the 2nd half really hurt this anime. 5/10Magi: Sinbad no Bouken:
Cool seeing Sinbad's origins and his potential to be a leader. The rest of the case is also interesting to see. I wish this got translated faster tho. Made the wait even tougher7/10Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu:
My favourite so far. The twists and turns so far are really interesting to watch. Subaru is an great MC. I find his over the top behaviour annoying from time to time and was really cringey in the early parts of arc 3 but the pay off in episode 18 was beautiful. I don't care for Emilia but the rest of the cast is great. Too bad they didn't complete arc 3. The shit storm would've been glorious.8/10Sakamoto desu ga?:
The opening is definitely the coolest of the season however the ahow lost steam after the first episode. Comedy is too repetitive and the series was just painfully boring. Dropped after 4 episodes 4/10Sousei no Onmyouji:
Decided to read the manga after a few episodes in and it makes me sad to see how the studio is treating the series with how much cliche filler they add in. That pet is just annoying.People are better off just reading the manga. Dropped after 6 episodes. 3/10 Favourite Opening

Thoughts on Winter 2016
Anime Relations: Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Dimension W, Musaigen no Phantom World, Ajin, Dagashi Kashi
Ajin:
I'm disappointed at the CGI but I'm still looking forward to this. Satou is still greatness! Pacing is a little slow at times and the censorship is annoying but pretty understandable. Especially in episode 11. Really hoping for a second season. I'm really looking forward to the second season. 7/10Boku dake ga Inai Machi:
It had such a strong start but overall it was disappointing. Didn't actually care too much about the characters and the revival felt like a cheap plot device. At least the ending was fairly satisfying. Even if it was a little rushed. 6/10Dagashi Kashi:
Characters are fun to watch but all of the Japanese candy references fly over my head. There is a plot at all but it's still fairly ok. Nothing really that memorable about this anime.4/10Dimension W:
Really like the MC and his design. Opening was hilarious. Gotta love his break dancing! Went downhill after episode 3. It felt like they were cramming way too much in not enough episodes. A lot of things needed to be explained further. Overall the plot was a complete mess. The best part of this anime was seeing Mira constantly abused by Kyouma.5/10Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!:
This show is hilarious to watch. Characters are always fun and their interactions always me laugh. A lot of dumb fun. Excited to see more Megumin greatness in season 2. 7/10Musaigen no Phantom World:
Started watching this because it's Kyoani and I was disappointed. The art and animation looked great but just about everything else wasn't. I kept watching it to see if it ever developed an actual plot and it sort of did in the last two episode but even that was fairly lacklustre.3/10 Favourite Opening

Thoughts on Fall 2015
Anime Relations: Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni "Shomin Sample" Toshite Gets♥Sareta Ken, Heavy Object, Subete ga F ni Naru, Haikyuu!! Second Season, Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen, One Punch Man, Noragami Aragoto, Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou
Haikyuu 2:
Very enjoyable so far. Opening is great stuff. New girl is funny. Already liking her more than Shimuizu. Drama can still be pretty cringey at times. Seeing all of the other teams and their dynamics was great. Such a great cast of characters. Last match was a lot of fun to watch. That last point was so intense! Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Looking forward to season 3 in Fall. 8/10Heavy Object:
Disappointing so far. First episode was pretty bad with stupid fanservice. Got better from there but it still isn't that great. Not sure how it's going be spread out into 24 episodes considering that it doesn't really have a plot. Didn't really have much of an overarching plot. Just Qwenther destroying one object after another using his head instead of just brute force. They tried to incorporate some politics into the series but it didn't really work that well and didn't interest me at all. Qwenther and Havia was an entertaining duo but that was about it. 4/10Noragami Aragoto:
So far it's way better than the first season. Really enjoyed the Bishamon arc. 2nd half wasn't as exciting as the first half. Felt like more a set up arc than anything else. Overall a lot better than the first season.8/10One Punch Man:
Love the manga/web comic and the anime is also cool. Madhouse is really doing the manga art justice with that glorious animation. Sadly there wasn't much story until the 2nd half. But I still really enjoyed the comedy. Mumen rider was an inspiration. Praying for a second season. I really need to see the Garou arc fully animated.8/10Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni Shomin Sample Toshite Gets♥Sareta Ken:
Had low expectations for this. It's actually pretty ok. Comedy is pretty decent and characters are fun to watch. The premise is retarded but I suppose that's the point. That place should really be against the law. Ending felt rushed and too random. 6/10Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen:
Nagoya Kessen-hen: Continues to be a pretty ok anime. Hoping for better animation than the first season. The first few episodes were somewhat rushed but it got better since then. Hopefully this anime only ending won't be too bad. The ending was a clusterfuck but an entertaining one. Seems like it spoiled the manga.6/10Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou:
Really enjoying all of the references to the main series. The opening is hilarious. Not really liking what they did with Armin. It got stale at times but overall it was an alright watch. Nothing amazing but it helped tide me over slightly while waiting for season 2 of the main series. 5/10Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider:
Very intriguing so far. Feels really slow but I'm really enjoying the ride. Opening is really catchy! Flashbacks creep me out. The twist towards the end caught me off guard. Although some of the dialogue just felt like it was trying too hard to be "deep". 5/10Favourite Opening
