| As of the end of the anime if I had to pick one Mai, Rena needs to shift her view on Ajisai a bit to have a more healthy relationship. She sees her way too much as some angel when she’s just a normal girl. And I mean right now Kaho and Satsuki obviously ain’t even a real discussion. |
| It’s Kaho - they have more in common than she does with the other three. Not only that, but Kaho challenges her to push herself, she in turn pushes Kaho. Mutual interests, similar personalities, similar desires, I think it works better. Like someone mentioned earlier, Rena has a warped view of Ajisai. It’s unhealthy how high of a pedestal she puts her on, she would do nothing but minimize herself no matter how much effort Ajisai put in to help Rena see herself in the light Ajisai sees her, it wouldn’t work. Ajisai would not be treated like a girlfriend, more a goddess, and Rena wouldn’t be able to meet realist relationship goals. Mai is the exact opposite. Even though there was a whole arc to her realizing she idolizes Rena she still has those views in the five part special. She talks about how no matter what she wants to see Rena happy. She’s too willing to sacrifice too much of herself for Rena. Satauki is just in love with Mai, full stop. Yeah, perfect polycule is ideal! But realistically Rena would have a better relationship with just Kaho. I’m about to dig into the maga so things may be different, that’s how I stand with just the anime to go off of. |
