Hey now
Hey, I’m a guy that watches a lot of anime, and I really like this site because it allows me to keep track of it all, what a great thing it is lol. You may see me in discussion threads of seasonal anime spanning from Fall 2020 to whenever you’re reading this, with the occasional older anime I type up posts for. I write posts for fun and also to have my thoughts written down, but if you happen upon one of them and give it a read, it’s very much appreciated, and don’t be shy to reply to them because I love interacting with folks!
I generally rate a lot of anime kinda highly, I’ve only given a handful of low scores ranging 6 or below because I typically watch things I think I’ll like, and I usually end up liking them lol. My favorite genres of anime are RomComs and SoLs, and I also have a soft spot for Harems due to my upbringing with anime, a big example being “To Love-Ru” which was pretty much what got me into anime, so if you ever see me gushing over a harem series that otherwise is getting trashed on, this is why lol. But I’ve expanded my tastes a lot over the years so I can watch and enjoy most genres, and there’s a good amount of Isekais and Shonens I’ve found myself loving, so yeah I like a lot of different anime.
You might also catch me making music references in my forum posts, especially jam bands, I enjoy trying to find ways to squeeze them in somewhere, any excuse to express my love for them lol.
Also finally decided to plug this after so long, here’s my YouTube channel which atm has nothing to do with anime and is mostly a gaming channel: https://youtube.com/@DirtsteveGAME

"but it's more that I didn't do some things I should have" that's unfortunate... I know what it feels like, the regret is unending... Yeah, like you said, best not to regret things...
"you have to make it a good year yourself, can't just expect it happen without any effort." yeah, absolutely...
"I will admit that I also liked it best in the first season" oh, good to know, happy to hear it actually. It was just very different.
"one day you give the rest of it a chance, but if not, I respect it." sorry, but that won't happen.
"a series I need to get into badly" not really lol. It used to be mainstream and a talk of the town, but ever since s2 hit, the hype just plummetted all the way to the ether, like I never heard of it again. But the funny thing is, I had a really really familial feeling (this fuzzy feeling inside) when I watched s2, it was a year, I think? after I finished the manga, so yeah, I felt a sort of connection, it was to an extent where I couldn't continue watching without having this intense to urge to stop at any moment and appreciate it or make a video. That's the highest praise I can give anything lol. I should watch it, maybe for my 700th?
I think bang dream has 2 covers for the songs. You heard the "crybaby" song right? The name of the song. Has like 40mil views on youtube, impossible not to stumble upon. Speaking of which, On my phone, I'm not connected to my youtube account, I'm logged in as guess, I wanted to keep my history clean and only look at educational stuff, but somehow still got recommended vtubers/anime, weird... at one point I searched up some anime stuff myself, maybe it was a song, and then my whole youtube page was anime related. But the funny thing is that I was recommended Ishura op1 on youtube!!!!!!!!!! that made me really happy, that it is being recommended to others. Actually, skimmed through the Ishura light novel illustrations for the later volumes, got insane hyped with fuzzy, warm feeling inside me (highest praise I can give), I was screaming, "it's so good, it's so good" (my version of peak). So maybe I will read it this year after all, once I'm ready... I found another ishura btw, I'm keeping my mouth shut on what it is, for now, I'll mention it eventually, or you'll see me add it to my list...
" And good to hear you enjoyed Season 3 of ReZero a lot" a lot is an understatement, I think about it regularly. One thing I forgot to mention in my last message, is the community, it's fun reading comments on youtube videos, and there are youtube videos for like every scene lol. Then I got recommended some prediction or wild mysterious of re:zero, I haven't watched them, but reading a title and seeing the thumbnail is enough to get the gist of what it's about.
I also checked out the web novel! The translator that picked up re:zero after a certain point, actually backed up the translation of the previous translator on his site. It's really important, many times a translator links to an old translator site, but the site is down, he probably gave up on the whole translating thing, and took the site down, it might have been working back when he was linking it, but it'd never work when I pick it up. I think I skipped on some novel that way. But its unsurprising that over a course of 9-10 years, it changed many translators.
Another cool thing is that there are several links right on the translator's homepage... Chapter after season 1, chapter after season 2, chapter asfter season 3.........
my god, THANK YOU, sure, I'll read from chapter 1, but it's just so awesome to see. I definitely see myself picking it up after where season 3 ended. And there are many many many comments under each chapter, which is the best part of the web novel. I haven't read web novels lately, so I miss my comments and some sort of engagement... Like reading ishura, spellblades, etc. was extremely lonely lol. Meanwhile spider, skeleton knight, was really lively with all the comments, but my god re:zero has like x5 amount of comments. Anyway, that's what I mean by community, when you see that you are not the only one liking it, when you see others who care for it, way more than even you do.
"And I'd check out the OP, but since I fully intend to get into ReZero, I think I'll hold off, thanks for the recommendation tho." I appreciate you actually saying it, way better than saying you liked it, but not watching it. And don't worry, I understand, but the OP is insane. Speaking of which, I think bang dream has 3 covers on s1 songs, but no covers for other 2 seasons... I don't really like re:zero covers, but usually bang dream covers are a banger. I remember linking you urusei yatsura songs, 3 covers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EIpjBmZLdw&list=RD-EIpjBmZLdw&start_radio=1
Here, I'll link it again. Aya has the girliest voice of all the vocalists, so a great fit. There is also Itou miku cover
there
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whk3uYDPPlU&list=RDWhk3uYDPPlU&start_radio=1
Itou miku has an incredible singing voice. Speaking of which, remember I told you about radio no seyuu, one of the seyuus there had this seyuu voice for voicing characters lol, but her actual voice is different, just like Itou miku's lol.
Well, obligatory bang dream praise is out of the way, we started 2026 right...
"Speech gimmicks are fun most of the time imo, nice that ReZero has a few characters that do that." oh yeah, it's literally impossible not to notice it there, especially Emilia's sugoku... it's still ringing in my ears........ And yeah, it was pretty annoying at times. Oh, funny thing, I saw sugoku in my anki today, it made me smile :)
" I think it was months actually based on when I look back" maybe it was months, not sure.
Not sure I ever heard of LiveChart
"MAL typically will notify you tho if it's in your PTW." I know that, but I feel like sometimes it doesn't happen...
Speaking of AI, jesus man I checked out a manhwa video recommendation. There are some channels on my phone that do that, that's how I learned of the arguably the best bullying/manhwa I've ever laid my eyes upon, a plaything I linked it to you before. So, since then, I'd check them out from time to time, if it's literally in my face on my front page. Subscribing to some people who recommend is probably smarter... but I don't look for easy ways lol. So far there are only 2 manhwa recommendations that I found this way.
Anyway, the thing that happened, that manhwa looked insane, I was very interested in it, looked good too... but... as you might have guessed, it was fucking AI drawn........................... I swear, I wanted to puke at that time, I felt disgusted for even feeling interested. And of course, disgusted at myself for not realizing it... but it looked really good... God damn AI is getting too good at mimicking. One of the comments said that the reason why it looks so good, is because it copied someone's existing style. Fuck, that's so disgusting, god I hate AI so fucking much...
Now, I know how vegans feel when they actually enjoy their meal, but then they realize it's made using animal stuff and they puke in disgust.
Anyway, it's incredibly scary, I now feel scared picking up random manhwas like I used to. If by some chance its AI and I like it, it'll be soul crushing learning it was AI. The thing is, that manga site doesn't have AI tag for anything, they either don't upload AI stuff, or just don't have it. Anyway, I hate this situation, stupid technology.
Like I really like AI when it comes to language translations, there are too many languages in this world, and being able to communicate or understand a different language thanks to AI is a godsend. So many games/mangas that would never see a translator hand are now translated, or you can even translate them yourself.
But using them for creative work? it's terrible!!!
"but I'll comeback, I've been doing 100 words a day lately, but I need to up it to 500 to clear it fast."
500 words wasn't enough lol, 2 days in a row I'd do 500 words, but the next day it goes back to this 996 number... let me free... God damn, you cannot get behind on anki for 2 weeks, it's better to do it tired, but daily. You can't skip 2 weeks, now I'll never catch up.
"I'm interested in seeing what you think of it." yeah... I'll mention it.
Yeah OP hypes up the show really well, like that re:zero OP or ishura, I'd have goosebumps.
"And that was such a shame, it's amazing to me how many people lose interest when a story isn't progressing every episode, god forbid you do any character or world building." I love ishura too much, and it's really sad knowing its not as popular, but at the same time, I feel this elitist sort of happiness, where I feel like the special one lol.
And while I still don't know what exactly ishura did wrong... like I swear, this has been on my mind since forever, I think about it very regularly, "what did the author do wrong" and best I have are guesses. But ultimately, I feel like multi pov is off-putting for others. I mean, most people still feel like Soujirou is the MC. People are just MC-brained, there has to be an MC. Or maybe Ishura was too early for its time. It'd would been more appreciated in the future.
" I like having so much to choose from" I see where you are coming from. But if less anime are made, they'd pick the best of the best! stuff you'll pick up anyway, but they'll atleast be longer. Basically I want a onepiece like anime. The best we got to that in modern times is black clover.
"but on the other hand, many great series don't get the continuations they deserve. It's a tough question really." Ah, right, I forgot you like most things.
"maybe I'll watch it in Japanese after all." we did it!!! 3 messages later >_>
Not sure, fall 2025 was pretty bad for me. Except for maybe monster wants to eat me, nothing else was worth watching. Oh and To your eternity of course.
And for summer 2025, while I watched quite a few, the only one I was actually happy to have watched was Mille-Feuille. I'm watching things, hoping it would be good, but nothing. Now, this season makes me a bit more hopeful. I already liked one that I watched. I saw that you watched it as well, the isekai. But the problem with anime like this, is that it's always interesting during the premise, the longer it goes the more boring it gets. Hopefully it won't be the case
Hmm Spring 2019 looked good, not as memorable as winter 2019 of course, that I still look back upon.
"That is a very interesting way of thinking. I get where you're coming from, but I'm not like that in the slightest. When I finish something good, I always go to the next thing." I see, there is also a slight burn out, I watched a lot of To your eternity and then I realized I need to watch re:zero and had to do it in time, so yeah, watched quite a bit lately.
Also that reminds me... back when I watched black clover and if you saw me fangirling after re:zero s3, you won't believe the level of fangirling I had at that time and I didn't watch anything else after that, because I knew nothing would overshadow it. Oh, and back then I watched nothing, I had that period of my life where some stuff happened and I watched nothing, it took a lot of willpower to continue black clover that I started a few years ago back when it was a seasonal. I remember how hard it was. Anyway, I remember my friend telling me at that time "yeah yeah, like there is nothing better than black clover". I watched tower of god and shadows house after that, which I then added to favorites, but still not to a black clover level.... Now, 5 years later, still nothing even close to a black clover level. I hadn't found anything that hits as hard either. But there are some really good stuff though.
Well, that was a good memory trip, I have a bit of headache so maybe that part wasn't the best written, but the message is near its end.
"Yeah that's pretty much why timeskips leave me with a weird feeling" oh, you also feel that way?
"No Ishura or Spellblades? Do pigs fly now?" lol. Maybe I'll read them after all, who knows, it's gonna be a hard year.
"it's good to give your favorites a break, that way when you return to them, the feeling of loving that series is even greater." well said, very very true.
"I don't like it is because I like to get fully immersed, people talking while I'm watching ruins that" true that. I guess that's why I watch those things that I've watched already.
"I don't think there is a right way to watch things with someone" there really isn't right? too bad
"the new show I started is "Urara Meirocho" oh shit, no way! It hasn't been long since I linked it too... makes me feel nostalgic. I actually have some screenshots saved up, back when I used to save things... from now on I'm gonna share a few at a time, so I don't feel like I saved them up for nothing lol.
I'm glad you are liking it, it's pretty good right?
Don't remember the fanservice, just because Chiya showed her belly, which was her thing? or licked others? just normal Urara Meirocho.
In short, re:zero is back in my heart. And now that I think about it, I stayed up very late that night where I finished 3rd season, I was really tired, but excited, and a new to your eternity episode aired, so I also watched that. And I was so happy watching it for some reason, the feeling of watching your favorite.
"Oh you think Sanda has hype behind it? The threads were pretty empty week to week besides the finale lol" really? I have no idea... But thanks for telling me, just this short comment tells me everything I need to know.
What do you like about Sanda? I don't mind watching it, if there's something worth watching it for.
Yeah, I noticed a good production in the 1st episode of ramune.
"from what I can tell most are liking it but of course there are some that don't, but yeah it's mostly positive." pretty standard, doesn't say much. I wonder if marinatte likes it. I used to have more friends on this site and all it took was a look at their score or a comment to tell if something was worth watching. Mal broke down in 2018, was inaccessible for like a month, and most left for anilist. I never liked that site, so I never migrated. And others just moved on with anime, not watching much anymore.
"I actually did forget lol, but it's back in my mind now, maybe I should try and make it happen" would be nice, I'll probably rewatching a 2nd/3rd season myself, just not the 1st one.
"but hey it got a sequel announced so you can watch more lol." yeah, very surprised about it. Marinatte literally said, "I'm out of here" lol. The final episode ended quite interesting actually. We hit the ending while we still had 4 minutes left of episode. And then a new arc started in the last 2 minutes, kinda cool, but it made it obvious that there is gonna be more. I'll actually watch 2nd season, unless too much time passes and mal doesn't remind me. But as long as I don't miss it, I'll watch it.
"Glad to know you share my hate for AI generated content, I'm really hoping it doesn't taint anime" oh, it will, eventually. Then there is gonna be some backlash that this anime was caught using AI, the studio will apologize, it will quiet down, and then someone else is gonna use it, and before you know it, it will start getting more widely accepted to use it, to cut costs and make more money.
"Ah so eroge's are apparently easier to read than regular VNs, good to know lol." I mean, that's what I concluded based on recommendations.
"And no progress this month huh, you'll have times where you fall off like that, the important thing is that you don't abandon it completely." yeah, I need to catch up.
Normally, I'd get around 200 words to repeat each day(green number). But it accumulated. The number should actually be higher, but it's capped at an odd number like 996 for some reason.
It happened before with other things for me, for one reason or another, I stop for few days, and then never manage to come back. But I'll comeback, I've been doing 100 words a day lately, but I need to up it to 500 to clear it fast.
So you liked final season huh. Yeah, I've heard that people didn't like the manga ED, but I also heard that anime's one was different.
I told that to my friend, but with how most re:zero episodes are 29 minutes long and they skip OP and ED, it's about as long as MHA lol. 3rd season didn't skip songs that much, which is good because they are hype(if you checked the OP that I linked). But in s2, I think I saw OP 5 times in 24 episodes, and I don't even remember the ED. I'm all for it btw, more content.
You liked the videos? nice
"like how well is the time travel introduced and did the writing stay good." yes, exactly. If it makes sense, and it's still good, I don't mind it, the problem is, it's bad and poorly explained/thought out.
"ike how do people read a manga based around music when they can't hear the music, I think that's definitely one of those things anime enhances the experience tenfold for." good question, and I can't deny not thinking the same question myself. But i'll tell you, you watch it for the story, like if its a band one, it's about band forming, drama, etc. Also, the novel for example had more details about instruments and the musical/technical part, which manga just skipped and I assume anime would skip as well. I can say the same thing about sports manga, how can someone read them, when watching the game is the main part. I'd say my answer is the same.
And yeah, hearing music makes it a whole different experience. Remember, the short music concert in Ishura? that was at least several minutes long. That wasn't even in the novel, like sure he played something, but I couldn't imagine how it sounded.
"Welp, regarding Dead Account, I've already made my picks for next season and didn't pick it lol, maybe I'll try and hit it very soon after it ends or close to when it ends since it's something you're interested in." I saw you add it to PTW lol. It just so happened that I was on mal at that time. And don't worry, I just thought you might like it. I don't like it personally, I'll still watch it, but my opinion is gonna me low.
"I was told it was good from someone that just finished it" really? See it for yourself I guess. But I can't help but disagree with anyone who'd say that the last 4-5 epsiodes or whatever after the confession were anything but redundant. Like absolutely nothing major happened, and we ended on an open ending. Like characters were thinking about their career plans and all that, nothing related to romance. Anyway, I'm glad it's over at least and I completed it.
'"I don't skip OP or ED either." You're the first person I've met that does the same as me in that regard lol, glad to know." Same, but it's weird, it's a part of the episode, mal says its 24 minutes long that includes songs, so if you skip them, you watch 21 minutes, whatever.
The most I'd do, is leave ED play, while I browse stuff.
OH!!! now that I think about it, re:zero is perfect for them, it skips songs most of the time.
" Wow that is wild, I feel like that can be a good and a bad thing, but looking at how well received the show is, I'm guessing it turned out good lol." It's just that, sometimes you can't afford it and I understand it. Like Ishura, how many people lost interest because its too slow for them. While I think it should've been 12 episodes per volume, we'd ended right before slime introduction, but then it would've been better adapted, like Toroa's story, but they had to cut corners to speed it up and introduce every tournament participant and considering I have it in my favorites, you can assume I didn't mind it that much. Like it couldn't be helped. In an ideal world we get less anime, but anime have more episodes and seasons. But maybe that's my perfect world, and many would disagree. From a business and money making perspective I can see how that approach is not profitable, like not putting all your eggs in one basket, make more money, something will hit. There probably are other reasons, but I'm too tired to think about it.
"how about the songs? Are they all in Chinese or were two different songs used for each version." same version in both languages. They are japanese with lots of english words. So maybe japanese is an official language after all.
"Hidden Dungeon huh? Still haven't seen that one, but good to know you love the novel." What I meant is that an interesting novel but not be an interesting anime, and novel readers are biased. Also most people were praising the production. Like the comments were either about it being peak (probably from novel readers), comments about high quality production, and comments that mentioned how they didn't understand anything. I don't remember many comments about an actual story.
"Thanks for telling me your journey with To Your Eternity" yeah, it has been insane. That and then re:zero, I've been eating good lately. It's nice, because there was nothing good about this season. And I've been meaning to watch those 2 for a while. Now, should I watch another good one? There are some options in my mind, but I don't want to overshadow those 2. I still wanna live with memories of those two, and not create additional memories that will shift them a bit in my head. But I also am considering watching enough for 700, so 3rd season of To your eternity becomes that. I really want that, but its unrealistic. The most I can watch is like 20, or 30 if I tried hard enough. It's so disappointing.
" like seeing a character in the modern age after we're used to them being in the older times, but I guess it depends on how it's done if I'd like it or not." not just that, it's about seeing someone you saw as a kid, then to appear as a grandma, it's a very weird feeling. Depressing in another way.
3rd season has been soooo good, I think it's after my last message on 22, that I stopped re:zero and just watched To your eternity instead. Maybe it was on the same day after your message. Enjoyable doesn't begin to describe it.
I'm glad I watched at least 5 memorable for life anime. Ishura, kusuriya, tbhx and now to your eternity and re:zero. Actually, gogo ranger was also memorable, right, I can add that too. Oh, and food for soul was also memorable, even though I only watched 2 eps lol. And rock lady too. Others are either completely forgettable, or less memorable. For the next year, I hope I can get into re:zero and index (I read a bit of index already, so it wouldnt be that difficult to continue) Not sure if i'll read ishura or spellblades in 2026. But we'll see. Oh, and mahou shoujo raising project. I really really wanna read it. Especially now, that second season or whatever is announced.
"I much prefer watching by myself and discussing it later with someone" oh, I thought it was what everyone do usually, hence why do people drag others to movie theaters, when they can watch it by themselves. But yeah, watching with others is pain. You wanna talk about a certain moment, but you don't wanna stop, because the other person might not like it. Or even worse if it's the first time you are watching it, you wanna think about something, mull it over, but you can't really stop. But then not talking about what you just watched ruins the point of watching together. Watching in silence? what's the point. Discussing after the episode ended? then it feels too late. Yeah... I don't like it. But if I would watch something with my sister or whatever, I'll just stay silent and let her take control, I can adapt to her whims, but I don't want her to feel uncomfortable adapting to my whims. I can just enjoy watching her reaction. I'm saying all that, but that probably won't happen anyway. We have different interests. Doesn't stop me from dreaming about it lol.
"It's wholesome that you watched anime with your sister tho, I love that." yeah, we watched nana, only 1 season of bungou stray dogs and one piece. That was 9 years ago... Too much have changed
Merry christmas and happy new year and all that btw. This year hasn't been too kind to me, so I won't miss it!
As for my recent news, when I finished s2 of To your Eternity, I noticed that I'm really close to 600 completed anime!!! while I admit it's silly, I usually have a little tradition for every 100s anime, and that is completing a 3rd season, but here comes my dilemma. I need a 3rd season, but nothing falls into that category, but there were some where I also need to watch s2. And by some, I mean re:zero, there is nothing else pretty much. Well, no, there are some anime that fall into that category, like iruma-kun or dr.stone or even MHA, and for the last 2, I only need to watch s3, and both are 12 episodes (I dropped mha s3 at around ep 12) But I have no desire to watch them. I've been meaning to watch re:zero for a while, the reason why I haven't watched it earlier, is because its pretty dark and depressing. It had one of the most depressing episodes I've ever seen in s1, so I was waiting for a better time, but after To your eternity nothing scares me anymore lol. So yeah, while I want to uphold traditions, I wouldnt watch just anything just to complete it. And it's better when an anime is a memorable one, and something that you value. Oh, another problem and actually the worst one, is that the current season's ending and it's a very bad timing. I have 7 animes and only 4 spots. 594 + 4 spots + 2nd season,3rd season of re:zero. So I either have to watch re:zero quite quickly, as its 36 episodes, or postpone current seasonals, and I kinda am interested in how some animes end like monster wo tabetai or tougen anki or gachiakuta or watari-kun.
And yeah, its a silly thing to be worried about, but it's something I've been doing for a while, so feels bad stopping now, even if its silly (I guess how it goes with traditions in general, you just feel bad stopping it).
You know what would be perfect? closing my 600 milestone with To your eternity, its a favorite and a 3rd season and I'm already almost there. But it's 2 cours, so no way. If I manage to watch 99 animes though, it can be my 700. Just do it in 3 months lol.
Well, I almost finished s2 of re:zero, so I'm getting there, luckily its re:zero so its pretty entertaining and I'm glued, don't even feel like watching anything else. I watched s1 9 whole years ago so I don't remember anything, and rewatching is not an option, I don't have time and its too depressing to rewatch. But maybe I should've or picked up a novel, cause I really don't understand most of it, Like I hear what characters are saying, and have no clue what's going on, even after watching 12 eps of s2, I'm still confused about why certain events happened or need to happen, or certain character motivations. I'm either dumb, forgot things from s1, or its problem of the adaptation or all of these things, but watching has been confusing so far. Not to mention dialogues that I just am not digging at all whatsoever. In fact, dialogues make me dislike the story.
Well, I've been meaning to read novel for ages, not to mention how I always hear praises of how some of the gross, horror scenes are written there, I wanna see it, I'm a sucker to good writing and great quotes. And I've never read a horror novel.
"I went ahead and added "The Fated Magical Princess" to my PTW, the wy you described it sounds like I would also enjoy it" nice! I'm happy to hear it! Since it's been 2 month since that post, I'd add that I'm 3 episodes behind, and while its worse than in the first episodes, it's still plenty enjoyable, at least something brings me some fun from this season :v. It's kinda cliche though, beautiful princess, everyone loves her etc etc... The only good thing about it, is that there is no obvious romance and no guarantees it will be a romance. That's what I hate the most in otome fantasy animes, especially with princesses, romance is always with some bishonen.
But since I was too into to your eternity and now re:zero, I couldn't find time for it.
"and personally I eat up the otome game/villainess genre lol" oh really? didn't expect that!
"so I ended up going with "May I Ask for One Final Thing?" which has been pretty fun so far." another friend here recommended it to me, but I couldn't see the appeal, I couldn't find anything fun. Especially because she was a super strong female character who beats everyone lol. I just don't like overpowered characters, unless it has an interesting story and the opposing side is just as strong. But the "I reincarnated as a cheat and now living a chill life" is something that's not for me.
I know you weren't recommending it to me or anything, just felt like adding some comment lol. Anyway, what are you liking about it?
Yeah, watching one episode to determine if the anime is good for you is not always the case, there were many cases where I needed at least a couple. But its usually me enjoying something in the first episodes and then the anime falls off in the second half. Anyway, I mentioned one episode, because you see the premise and the setting and all that, so you at least know what it's about, of course there are also cases like Ishura where you need more episodes. Like my friend dropping it first episode because of deaths. Or fumetsu no anata as well actually, I didnt like it during the first episode, and the second arc either, it was around ep 7 where I started to really like it. Kinda similar to to be hero x. Like I didnt want to continue, but because I knew they were hyped and should be good, I tried to bear with it. But yeah if they were some seasonal, unpopular animes, I probably wouldn't have continued. Oh, I'm in a similar situation with Sanda, I didnt like the first episode, but I know it has some hype around it, so I wonder if I should continue it... I just don't see myself liking it at all because of the premise... Really don't know.
Anyway, I don't understand the point of what I said just now lol, I feel like I contradicted myself multiple times... anyway, it's hard :v
"But really yeah you should absolutely not force yourself to watch something you aren't enjoying, that is the best way to be about it." I used to have a no-drop policy, but I've been suffering too much because of it, and now that the time is more limited I need to drop things I don't like. Speaking of which, Shuumatsu no Touring or Apocalypse touring was such a disappointment, the title is self-explanatory, I knew it'd be slow, but I didn't expect NOTHING to happen in 11 eps, no drama, there is mystery but nothing has been resolved. https://myanimelist.net/anime/53356/Shuumatsu_Train_Doko_e_Iku the other similar anime about apocalypse, but they are travelling on a train not bike. And every episode was interesting, there was mystery and conflict, we had some twists, keys to resolving the mystery about apocalypse, basically just things to keep someone hooked and keep on watching. But shuumatsu touring had NOTHING. I really wish I hadn't picked it up/dropped it, but I was like "surely something will happen next episode", gambler fallacy fufufu xD
Tell me something good about ramune one? I dropped it early, so maybe something good happened later? do others like it? what are their complaints? what's the public opinion basically?
Apparently it wasn't a s2 of sakamoto, it was just a part 2 of s1? I was really confused when I saw an announcement of s2 just now, like didn't we have it already? or did I time travel? lol
Sakomoto struggling? no way lol. Yeah I probably liked part2 more because there were less of Sakomoto, and more of other characters that at least struggled lol. But overall, I'm still not a fan of the anime or anything, I'm just trying to find good points about it so I don't feel too bad spending my time on it lol. sunkcost fallacy? too many falacies in this post xD
"Well I'm mainly talking about old anime, when they used to have to make fillers to not overtake the manga lol" some good times. Btw remember you saying you'd watch Sayuuki reload to me? lol, I haven't forgotten... An old anime, that had fillers, or more like anime-original content. I read manga so I know. I don't remember any other old anime that I watched recently, and I watched Sayuuki reload 8 years ago haha.
Speaking of Tougen Anki, I thought about it while I was watching it, but it kinda reminded me of Fairy tail. Fairy tail's arc are a straight up 10 in the beginning, like incredibly amazing, but then there is a gradual decline, and by the end it's unwatchable, insane drop in quality. Well, it's mostly because of how the fights are resolved, sure you thought of a thing called "friendship magic", well guess where it came from? xD. Tougen Anki is kinda like this, but its like it goes from 8 to 5... Yep, I think its an accurate description.
Tell me about it, as someone who browse latest released games (bad idea I know), I see too many ai art, it looks so fucking ugly and soulless, it makes me wanna puke, literally.
"I'll never use it myself but you never know when it comes to big companies that only see dollar signs." I agree with you on this, but in addition to that there are also many solo devs(if I can even call them that, when they use AI for everything) who make games. Like I wanted to make a game myself in the past, but I'm so bad at making art, that I scrapped the idea, and I never imagine using AI just because I'm bad at it. It makes me puke just looking at whatever that AI thing made.
"because rn I still remember the anime for the most part." well, hope that stays for a while.
like every japanese VN is an eroge lol and those that aren't are apparently hard to read in japanese. But I found a VN that I downloaded in english, where you can switch languages, so I'd read it in japanese and switch it to english. Because while translating it with AI is good and all, I wanna see how it was human translated. The problem is, first of all its very hard to read lol, all I can pick up are individual words, but sentences structures are way harder, the other problem is switching language takes about 10 seconds, and you can imagine how not fun it is waiting 10-20 seconds for every sentence, even if sentences take a while. Also I don't think I can use it in my extractor tool that lets me copy sentences.
Speaking of progress, haven't done anything this month at all lol.
"but at the same time it is a LN series, author is definitely playing the long game with getting to the revenge" I guess...
"I agree with you, but at the same time I'm fine with the way it went." I see...
Oh yeah, been meaning to ask how you are feeling with MHA's final season and the fact that its ending. I heard final episodes were anime original. But still only year passed right? all 7 seasons or whatever were in the span of 1 year, right? You are liking production? that's not surprising, one thing about MHA that never disappointed me is production. Bones really took care of it... Anyway as someone who watched it during its release back in 2016, I feel really old seeing it end 9 years later. Speaking of 9 years, watching re:zero that aired in the same season as MHA which is kinda amazing if you think about how popular both are. That spring 2016 was absolutely fucking stacked lol. And MHA was consistently been getting new seasons, like every year? and adapted to completion? I know its popular and was probably very profitiable for them to make, but I'm still amazed and applaud them for seeing it through. Now, I return to re:zero, that only has like 70 episodes aired in 9 years with no conclusion in sight and still an on-going novel. And both are beyond popular. Man, being a manga is such a cheat compared to a light novel when it comes to adaptations, its not even funny. I remember checking out a few panels in Yamada-kun 9999, and was amazed just how much better the anime was, a lot more detailed with more information added lol. Meanwhile if it was a novel, it'd be cutting scenes not adding them lol.
And yeah I realized adapting manga is million times easier.
Speaking of VNs, there is one I've been really enjoying and I made some videos a few months ago, back when I talked about To be Hero X, the post was quite long that time so I felt like postponing it. The videos are a bit long, but they are fun and I couldn't make them shorter! I really love this girl. It's funny, because there was another girl in that VN that I really liked and was perfect for me, but then Valerie showed up. I don't remember the last time where a story with limited amount of characters (there are 3 dateable girls). And there are 2 waifus, not 1. To someone like me who've seen a lot of characters and who doesn't get too impressed anymore, it's rare to get 1 waifu in a story, let alone 2. And that's a waifu mind you, not just a favorite character. To me it goes like this, character you like < a favorite character < waifu. So obviously I wanted to share it.

https://streamable.com/xkgf55
The VN Is called Ace academy btw. https://store.steampowered.com/app/396650/ACE_Academy/
I gotta use some of the quotes, like "don't miss me too much" or "don't sound so sad, you'll see me again" or the "pleaaaaase" in her voice or "but you didn't deny thinking about it"
Man, she is such a blast lol. There are some other great scenes with her later on, and then even better scenes after you start dating.
And these 2 pictures are absoluuuuuuutely adorable
And yes, if she was on mal, I'd add her to favorites.
"Future Diary kinda does that too" oh yeah, I forgot that there are some weird weird deux ex machina elements with time travel elements. I didn't get to that part though. Also I last watched it like 9 years ago, who knows how I'd like it now.
Yeah, of course I watched Summertime Render. It was good enough, not nearly the best, if I only watched the first half, I'd say its pretty amazing, but the second part, while it wasn't terrible, was still a bit disappointing for my liking, like how easily stuff got resolved, how many conveniences there were and all that.
You haven't seen other save and load stories?
Well there is this https://wuxiaworld.eu/novel/dungeon-ni-hisomu-yandere-na-kanojo-ni-ore-wa-nandomo-korosareru
which I really like. I read manga and novel, not sure if there is gonna be an adaptation, but pretty sure adaptation will not satisfy me.
Then there is also this https://myanimelist.net/manga/109615/Ore_no_Genjitsu_wa_Renai_Game_ka_to_Omottara_Inochigake_no_Game_datta
that I also like. I mean save and load or timelooping to save someone is fun, but only if it starts as this kind of story!!! for example I, and many others wouldn't be happy if, say, golden kamuy starts it in season 4 or something lol.(I mentioned it because I saw you rewatching it just now, but any example works)
Then the other 2 I found, on my birthday a few months ago actually lol, just randomly and pretty much at the same time.
https://myanimelist.net/manga/177358/Band_wo_Kubi_ni_Sareta_Boku_to_Oshi_JK_no_Seishun_Rewrite
https://myanimelist.net/manga/151208/Ashita_Hadashi_de_Ko
Band wo kubi is about a protagonist who was kicked out of his band after playing there for 10 years, being kicked because a large brand wants to sign them, and he is dragging their team down with his play, so in order to get signed, one of the requirement from the managers was to get rid of him. Protagonist later learns about one of his classmate killing herself, he was actually a fan of her, and while her music is depressing, targetting loners and depressed people, he didn't think she was this miserable herself. He then somehow managed to timetravel 10 years ago, back when he first met her, and this time he wants to live his youth more enjoyably, and not join his old band that he dedicated all of himself only to get kicked later. That and he was also set to save the girl.
It's pretty fun and it's also pretty good, and it's only 1 volume. Even translator was like "I wish it wasn't just one volume" that's how good it was.
Tomorrow when spring comes is very similar. His former girlfriend, who became quite popular with her music, kills herself, living a suicide note behind, protagonist also somehow manages to timetravel back, in the most unique way I've ever seen! By replicating her song on the piano she used to play on at school. Tell me that's not unique lol. But he can timetravel back and forth by playing on the piano, pretty cool, right?
Anyway 2 stories about timetravellnig and saving a girl, both found at the same time lol. I just recently started the first volume, it's been pretty good so far. I'm almost 100% certain it's gonna get an adaptation. It has 5 volumes, so maybe 24 episode will wrap the story quite nicely? Anyway look out for that one.
And now since I mentioned future animes
Dead account is coming next season! I remember dropping it, I'll probably pick it up just to see it adapted. But it's kinda like death match + shonen, not my favorite combo, I'll explain why. Shonens while good, are usually for younger audiences (I don't wanna say for kids), shonens also have a lot of silly moments, lots of comedic elements, while death match genre is like a thriller, it needs to be tense and a badly timed comedic moment can absolutely ruin that. I don't remember why I dropped it exactly, but it wasn't good. Still you might be interested, so I thought I'd mention. Aside from that, there are actually some titles that I feel interested in.
"And since you mentioned it, 2018 is very nostalgic for me as well, it was the year I returned to anime after not watching any for a handful of years, I haven't stopped since." that's cool to know! And yeah, good luck on that 2017 anime run!
"I know I could divide it up but movies are intended to be watched in a sitting so that's what I do lol." nice that you do. If it's something interesting like re:zero, I could do it, but if its something new, that has no series, I find it very hard to not get distracted. Basically the goal to not alt tab or distract yourself is to feel strong engagement.
Marinate is just passionate, it's fun, but I enjoy reading his salty comments. Comments when he enjoys an anime are not that enjoyable.
Speaking about Watari-kun, it's has gotten a lot a looot worse in the last 5 episodes, so bad it's unwatchable. I don't think I'll be rating it high.
Yeah, that made me wonder whether authors think about zodiacs and stuff like that when they make up birthdays for characters. Or like why did they decide that Himari's birthday has to be in October... I really wanna ask them that.
I don't skip OP or ED either.
"Oh wow that is really nice art, I love the art style, and yeah that plan is diabolical lol, I love it." you'll read it right? pleeeease? xD I'm kidding, I'm kidding, you don't have to read it.
"only thing I don't like about it is that it could make a story not as good as it could be, because I don't always agree with my fellow fans of a series." Nah, it's not really like this, I've heard that one character dropped out of the tournament because his rating was too low after the PVS were shown, but not sure if it's true. I know that they released PV for each character with their own personal songs before the anime aired(hence why watching them first is an option). But I don't think it resulted in that character dropping out. But if the result of the tournament depend on how many votes they have, then its just not gonna be fun. Anyway the extent to how the votes matter will be revealed in season 2, but I trust them on doing well. Also, I'm pretty sure I, and most viewers probably know that tournament is gonna be dissolved and not seen through. But that's also only assumptions, nothing is set in stone.
But, man the first season was so good. I don't think about it too much, only when I ocassionaly stumble on some song from it, which became way less frequent as time went by or now, as I'm typing it all out and thinking back on it. And that also made me realize that it's been almost 4 months lol, and I feel like we talked liked 3 times in that time lol, definitely need to up that number. 2026 resolution?
"I disagree, I don't think every anime needs character songs, I agree that they are cool but a great OST is great too, it just depends on the anime." didn't expect you to disagree... I wonder what you have against character songs...
"I really gotta watch Apothecary Diaries don't I lol, cool that they have an official MAD tho." yeah, they did great in making that MAD. Also, did I mention that they only adapted 4 volumes in 48 episodes? how insane is that? best adaptation ever? When I realized that, I almost swallowed my tongue lol.
I just think that chinese voice acting is just way inferior to japanese one. Like, I've been watching re:zero recently and I was reading some comments on youtube, on how amazing Kobayashi Yuusuke is as a voice actor, the emotions that he was able to convey. I don't remember hearing anything near that level in chinese or heck even english voices. I don't doubt there are some great work done by english voice actors, but not to that level. and Kobayashi Yuusuke is just one example, he is not an excepton, he is like a norm. There are just so many great voice actors, that it feels normal to expect the very best. Or Takahashi Rie saying sugoku sugoooku as Emilia lol. And even Hanako-kun's voice really amazes me, I can't imagine anyone doing that kind of voice.
I understand about going for a native voice, but when it comes to To be Hero X, while its chinese, they collaborated with japanese production studio or something, both versions were coming out at the exact time and even when you go on its mal page, the ones that are displayed first are japanese voice actors.
" I do still wanna check it out tho." if you watch lord of mysteries, at least explain it to me, I at least wanna know what all the fuss is about, but I can't find motivation to commit myself to it, especially when absolutely nothing interesting happened in the first episode, I just can't see the appeal. Even if the novel readers say so. Let me tell you something Hidden dungeon https://myanimelist.net/anime/41899/Ore_dake_Haireru_Kakushi_Dungeon
is one of my favorite novels that I read, but I wouldn't claim it's good or anything, it's called reading magic lol, something you'd enjoy things you wouldn't usually read if it was in another form, which is anime in this case.
Yeah, Dexter is actually the only TV show that I watch lol. I watched it before I set on this anime journey, so watching one new season is not hard, especially considering that I'm excited for it. I used to watch game of thrones too.
" but damn it made you cry that much huh? I've never watched something that's made me not want to live after watching it, but it's great that an anime moved you so much" don't even get me started lol. Omg, I have so much to mention about it. To start with, like I mentioned, I stopped watching after that episode, that break lasted at least 10 days, but it was just really painful to continue, and guess what happens next? I'm watching a new episode with a found resolve of mine, watching the OP, and then I see that character again... and.... emotional reaction began, like it was so painful just watching that OP, ahhhh. But that was a beautiful and an absolutely amazing arc, 100% my favorite. Even after I watched further, it still remains my favorite arc, there is one 4-5 episodes arc in the second season that I also liked quite a bit. It really baited me and all the viewers lol. This anime always surprises you.
Anyway that last arc of the first season was not my favorite... I've heard others speak ill of it as well, and perhaps that arc is why second season wasn't as popular as the first, many people gave up. I didn't feel much that arc, only anger, anger at how stupid some characters were, literally jumping into death, suiciding, treating it as game, after MC saved them, mind you. Like real wild stuff, it triggered me so much lol that I felt no sadness. But the very very last episode was very very good.
And looking back on the first season, every arc made MC learn something important and how to be more human. He met a mother figure, he met a brother-like figure in his life as well as family and learned what family feels like, then he learned that he shouldn't take it all on himself and that there are others who will fight with him, something like friends, and finally he learned of people dying of old age and humanity's limited time span.
Good right? Then second season felt entirely different, like the author used different formulas lol. But there was one thing that made me make yet another pause, that happened in 2nd episode after 200 fucking years passed lol. It was really upsetting, like now everyone he met before died of course. Then a character he met in ep 1 of season 2, her first appearance, was gone by the end of ep 2, like why did they show us to her then? that also upset me, because she was a cool character with a cool voice. But obviously the most upsetting thing is this large ass timeskip. Like things moving too quickly. Luckily the next arc, up until ep 10 was really good, second favorite after that arc in s1. After that, there were some things I didn't like that much, but overall it was still very entertaining and most importantly tense. I remember leaving home satisfied after that great arc in season 2, mulling things over, which was quite memorable in itself, then coming back home and continuing, just couldn't help myself, and ended up watching 10 episodes and even starting season 3 lol, stayed up late, but that was worth it. Overall I was very satisfied by it and it had a really good ending, overall a happy one, but there were some extremely depressing things (I didn't cry if you wonder, but I felt hopeless), like the deaths were so depressing I dunno. Actually just one death, there weren't that many deaths that season, formula changed like I said. But the most depressing thing, is unexpectedly a good ending, it showed character's fates at the end, like what happened to them. There were some characters that lived up until they were old and died on their deathbed, one character in particular had the best ending, his love life realized, he married the girl he loved, he was surrounded by her and their son, as well as his family. But it was so indescribably depressing in itself, don't you think so? Sure, that's the best deaths you can have, but it doesnt change the fact that it's the death, everything is over. And seeing the final moments where you are hopeless, and just waiting for your last moments before you literally wither away is too depressing. So while the final episode was a good ending, its still depressing, kinda bitter-sweet. Anyway, even in good endings this anime is depressing, jeez... The anime could've ended there and it would've been good and all, and now you may think, "oh the author saw the success and just continued milking the story", but you'd be wrong. It felt like there were still a lot that could be explored. So 3rd season happened, which is, so far, by far my favorite. It again changed its formula, so much that it became a school-life slice of life story LMAO, yep yep, you heard me right. We are now in the modern times, school life, smartphone and all that hahahaha. I still can't believe it, and I never imagined I'd need something as much as this type of story, but here we are.
It's like the type of story of "reincarnating in the modern world, or transporting" or something like that and then exploring the modern civilization, cars, phones, and stuff, but instead of it being first season, its season 3.
But yeah, very fun, it feels more like a fanfiction than anything else I'd watched before, but I'll take it. And the best part if that everything made sense, not like time travelling in darwin's game.
Anyway, the verdict is To your eternity never ceases to amaze me. Actually typing all this out made me really crave to watch more of s3, I had to stop because of re:zero.
"and before that was probably Mieruko-chan, one of my all-time favorite anime, despite being a horror anime it can have some very emotional scenes." really? didnt expect it to be emotional, maybe I'll check it out....
"Oh your sister is into anime?" no, she isn't lol, but you still want to do something you are passionate about with someone else you care about. So I was thinking of some normie friendly anime, with no off-putting fanservice or "anime moments" if you know what I mean. So fat, stuff like to your eternity, kusuriya no hitorigoto or shadows house, or even to be hero x, are probably some of the best picksl
" we joke about it but if you're actually feeling that way about it for too long at a time, it might not be good for you." I call it depression, but its more like deep sadness, so maybe I picked a wrong word. I'd usually feel strong sadness, and will play a game or two, be overly sad throughout my playtime, but playing it kinda makes you take your mind off things, so you dont think too much about it, but sadness is still there.
Have a good new year!
yea it was also around those years that I watched it too, I remembered recommending it to people who wanted to start watching anime, but after season 3 like this i don't think like recommending it unless they would be interested to reading the manga after it
It's really Crazy How Ufotable Can Always stay at the same quality and go beyond for the Demon Slayer but this didn't happend for one punch man
I Really believe They Used AI but yea there's no Confirmation so it was like a theory video and yea i thought make it a little fun would be cool XD, Also Thank You for Wathing it ❤️
I Watched the new episode of OPM tho, i will defently make another video on that
I See You Started Watching One Punch Man, you gave season one 9/10
so it was great?
As For Riyo...Same Here, Loved Her The Moment She Appeared But....That Latest Plot Reveal Is What Made Her Goated To Me, I've Been Waiting For A Character Like Her That Don't Give A Shit And Pulls Out A Gun In A Magic Battle 😂
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that 🥰 Hope you enjoy the new video when you check it out!
FR, I never Get it why people puting her in the most hated character lists, she literally did nothing bad! She was just a little jealous
I really love her personality, and the fact that she’s a short-haired character makes me like her even more 😤💖💖
True, it all comes down to personal taste.. BUT - how are there people out there that don't shounen dammit! :p. From DB, to the Big 3, HxH, AoT, JJBA, JJK, DS, MHA etc etc sure the plot/fights can be easy to predict but there's something about that character development, power of friendship, power systems, the villains & of course the fights that no matter how many I've watched I always come back for more lol.
Oof yeah that cliffhanger of Kaiju was brutal, I just checked and so far there hasn't been an announcement for S3 🫡.
I agree with you, every season has at least a few series that are worth watching (but definitely NOT the amount of anime YOU're watching haha). Damn now that you mentioned it, I remember reading the manga of Beastars for a while, watched all the seasons and yet I've never seen Itagaki draw an actual human lol. Sanda will be a fun ride for sure. Haven't started OPM S3 but man.. look at how they massacred my boy 🪦
I get really picky when I’m editing lol 😅
Yeah, I actually created my YouTube channel a year ago, but I only got more serious about it recently. I’m trying to upload weekly now, and I’ve had a few years of content-creating experience too.
I’m really glad you enjoyed my video ❤️
Just uploaded another one if you wanna check it out! 🔥📺
