Video above is “Winter Story” from the anime “Given”. It’s a boys love anime that features a male vocalist whose boyfriend committed suicide.
As a dmab person whose boyfriend committed suicide, I obviously got very emotional over this.
It’s in Japanese above, of course, but the video has an English translation. I listened to a couple English covers, but none really vibed with me. So I felt it was time to pull out my old lyric-tweaking skills and make a. Well a me cover. So, yeah, this is about my experience, based heavily on the current lyrics but definitely a far cry from being a direct translation. I wanted to focus on keeping the rhythm more than the words.
I’d love to do a cover of this eventually, but singing is not my strong suit so if anyone who can actually sing wants to give this a try, that would be incredible.
