so basically there was a poor fisherman in al-hoceima (morocco) selling fish but police officers had caught him selling without a license. The police took his fish and threw it in the trash. The guy jumped in the truck and wanted to take the fish back since it is his only source of income. The truck crushed him and he died. I want to you to know where this police brutality has taken place cause it is not a coincidence that this has happened in the Rif region of morocco. It specific to a wider issue. His name was Mohssin Fikri. The makhzen (government) is truly brutal.
If you have to vote where these people are going to be crowding your polling place, I wanna preemptively congratulate you on your bravery.
While chances for voter suppression and fraud are not as high as you might think, I want to take a hot second and say this:
If you are required to attend a polling station where there are assholes trying to turn people away-record and document them. If you feel safe enough, get hard evidence that these people are knowingly attempting to prevent people from voting and contact the authorities. Only the people directly working the polls will ask for your ID so you can receive the correct ballot. If someone asks for your voter registration or drivers license outside of the building they are trying to keep you from voting. If someone touches you to prevent you from entering the polling station call the police or have someone do it for you.
Suppressing your right to vote is a federal offense.
I am deeply offended by what Trump said about what he calls “partial-birth abortion.”
He is a horrific liar.
Hillary was right when she said that people who make the choice to abort a pregnancy near the end are people who want to be parents yet have been forced to make that decision because something has gone horribly wrong and the life of the parent or fetus is severely threatened or compromised.
Imagine being at 35 or 38 weeks and being told that you baby has no chance at life, or that continuing the pregnancy would mean that you have no chance of surviving. You are then faced with the choice of ending your pregnancy to save your life or to bring an end to the suffering of the fetus.
Trump wants to ban you from making that decision. He would rather have you die. He would rather that the fetus continues to deteriorate toward inevitable death, and that you prolong your suffering of that experience as well.
According to the police, they responded to call of an emotionally disturbed woman acting erratically. When they got there, they found the old Black woman alone in a bedroom with a pair of scissors. The officer asked 66-year-old Deborah Danner to put the scissors down, but she grabbed a baseball bat instead. That’s when he shot her twice. The woman was struck twice in the torso.
The sergeant, who’s been with the department eight years, didn’t use the stun gun, he preferred to shoot the old lady down.
Even State Senator Ruben Diaz says the shooting was indefensible. “To me, it is very difficult to understand how a woman who is [66] years old and has emotional problems should have to die like this, especially if there are four or five police officers in the room with her.”
They didn’t reveal the name of the officer but the investigation has been opened into the shooting, and it will seek to determine why the sergeant did not use the Taser he had in his possession.
Look at the twitter for Deborah Danner makes you wonder. NYPD shot this woman yesterday.
Another soul was STOLEN by the law enforcement. This is an outrage!
