I genuinely hate that people can just reblog shit that's like "trans men are just whining little bitches that want to hijack trans women's REAL suffering and make everything about them" and still get likes and supporters
Anyone and everyone CAN write. The world’s most skilled writer didn’t start off skilled. The key is that they practice hard by writing a lot.
As long as you write, you are practicing your craft and you are getting better at writing. But you will never get anywhere if you let AI write for you.
WRONG. talk about it. shout about it. yell about it. scream about it. so what if it’s a fanfic? it’s done with love and passion. it’s art created by a fellow human being who, despite life and lord knows what battle they may or may not be going through, probably stayed up all night writing it before they shared it with the world for free. they’d probably spent months or years writing it. it’s as much a piece of art and literature as any other art and literature that aren’t fanfics. and unlike artists who make profit off their works, fanfic writers truly write for free, because they are that passionate about their stories. the least we can do is show them our love and appreciation.
"where are all the older transmascs and trans men?"
dead or detransitioned.
they were killed by their families. by their partners. by random strangers.
they killed themselves because they weren't treated with respect.
they never got out of the closet because they live in a part of the world where people seen as women don't have any autonomy.
they detransitioned because they had no support, because they were pushed out of community and safe queer spaces.
they're so stealth nobody in their lives knows they're trans, because they get treated with less respect when people know.
where are our transmasc elders? the community failed them, and now they're an endangered population.
Whenever people talk about women who are sexually assaulted, if you bring up how men are also sexually assaulted, that's derailing the original intent of the post and people won't skip a beat in telling you how you're only doing it to avoid engaging with the original topic being discussed.
But the minute trans men make posts about specific oppression done to us (whether that be medical abuse, transphobia, forced feminization, conditional allyship), people are quick to hop on how we aren't the ONLY ones that experience that! We need to provide an entire bibliography of disclaimers on why we're only referencing trans men in our post and not including every demographic under the sun that also experiences these things.
We aren't allowed to focus on ourselves without it somehow meaning we hate and exclude everyone else. Waffles and pancakes ass website.
ANOTHER interesting thing that's been on my mind is kinda how cis women treat me either knowing or not knowing I'm trans and how they're like.. incapable of sorts wrapping their heads around the fact that a lot of their experiences aren't exclusive to cis women.
Like I've had women over explain to me how much periods suck and like quiz me on female anatomy (for some reason) and how shitty it is to be catcalled and how Im so lucky I'm a guy I would NEVER experience that.
Which, first of all, I'm not even fully passing imo. To some people I am, I think to the people I interact with a lot because my voice puts in the work, but I still only get gendered on sight about half of the time because I'm smaller/shorter and have longer hair.
Second of all, if I choose to bring up like yeah hey, I actually did also go through all that and even still do go through some of those things (like how bad periods suck), there's now a big chance they just. Won't see me as a man anymore.
So my two options are "as a man you must feel so lucky to have NEVER experienced this" (not true) or "oh well you did experience this thing I assume is only experienced by women therefore you're NOT a man" (also not true)
It's tiring out here guys
tagging this so hopefully anyone sees it
u dont need to "pass" to be trans. at all. ever. you dont need to "pass" now, you dont need to "pass" outside your home, you dont need to "pass" around ur friends and family, you dont need to have the goal of "passing", you dont have to have any "passing" friends, you dont have to own a "passing" wardrobe, you dont have to have a "passing" hair style, and you dont have to have any "passing" surgeries or hormonal treatments. EVER.
the idea of needing to "pass" is there for cis and binary comfort, and to further divide the trans/nb community from the inside
the only requirement anyone needs to call themselves trans is being trans and anyone who says otherwise should be shunned from our safe spaces unilaterally
If you want to stand up for transgender Canadians, then there's a petition to ask the federal government to repeal the acts signed into law that restrict transgender medical care for transgender youth:
You need only be a resident of Canada, not a citizen to sign. Please help us give transgender youth a fighting chance. Their medical care decisions should be between the handling physician and family only. This isn't a matter for politicians to decide.
hey, so I would he grateful if people living in Canada could sign this and if non-Canadians could signal boost, please.
hi guys! discord is doing a survey on how people would like ai to be integrated into discord. take it and say fuck no to every question. when you get to "in general, how do you feel about discord inegrating ai features?", respond that you would actively get everyone you know off of discord and wouldn't pay for nitro or other shop items if they added ai features.
Done and done.
