what kinds of beast folk don't exist or don't exist anymore? is there a rule of thumb to it or is it just by chance? sorry if i'm asking too many questions about this i just really like the setting.

I’m glad you like my setting! I always appreciate it when folks like my worldbuilding stuff.

To answer your question, one group as a whole are were-dinosaurs, specifically, non-avian dinosaurs. The reasons are spoilery, but as a rule, while some prehistoric critters extinct in OUR Earth may be present in Urvara, it doesn’t necessarilly mean they have a werebeast counterpart, and vice versa. Every beastfolk you see here no longer exist in ‘modern’ Beast Fables time.

Happy New Year 2026!

Well, it’s officially 2026 on my end!

I hope that 2026 is going to be a good one for all of you. I just wanted to say thank you all for your support in the year 2025. It’s been quite the ride on a personal level.

Beast Fables - Dire Beasts of Urvara

So, finally get to reveal of what I’ve been working on before the New Year!

A lot of focus is on chimeras for Beast Fables, so I decided to shine a light on Dire Beasts!

For those new, Dire Beasts are essentially animals and creatures born with The Gift much like Chimeras, but instead of borrowing traits from other animals temporarily, they have a permanent transformation that makes them, essentially, a larger, more exaggerated version of themselves.

From orcas to lobsters to whales, a dire beast tend to be very dangerous, and much more aggressive in comparison to their normal color counterparts. For example, the Sandfury, the dire beast form of the bobbit worm, will actively chase after prey when it misses its target the first time.

Meanwhile, on land, while every human being on Urvara is some form of werebeast, complete with the advantages (and occasional disadvantages) of their beast forms, they still share their world with truly formidable dire beasts.

From hornbills with beaks sharper than spears, bears with fur as hard as chainmail, and beetles the size of pigs, wild dire beasts make life quite difficult for the average landlubber, frequently outmuscling and outsizing people even in beast form.

Even ‘small’ dire beasts are dangerous. For example, the Tlahuele, dire hummingbirds, will not be afraid to aim for the eyes with their spear like beaks.

Merry Christmas 2025 and Happy Holidays

Powered through some depressive feels to at least doodle something for the holidays.

In a Fallout mood, so here’s a Christmas deathclaw!

Merry Christmas everyone! (Still Christmas eve for others)

A few days ago I washed the newest Avatar movie, and of course I enjoyed it lots.

So here’s my favorite scene featuring my favorite creature from the franchise.

in the world if beast fables do cities and houses need to accomidate for both human and beast forms? like what happens if a mammoth folk man was sitting on a chair and table made for his human form, and he eats a salad that causes him to turn into his beast form?

Fantastic question! And yes, accomidations are thought about ALL the time in Urvara. It’s something I’ll probably make a bigger post on, but I have made a sketch on what a tavern/coffee house combination that had that in mind.

image

Not the two doors for two distinct sizes, one for folks entering in human form, and another for really big patrons, be they were-rhinos or were elephants.

There’s always a space to accomodate patrons with large beast forms. Some in the form of larger tables and benches that reflect that forrm, but usually people sit on a carpeted floor and enjoy a meal together, usually with a bowl to wash their hands if needed.

Usually, a patron will inform a patron what their catalyst is, and get the option to get a ‘human’ sized table, or one that fits their beast forms better.

image

Here’s an example I just sketched right now. Usually if there’s a table specifically made for large patrons in their beast forms, the tables are made of tough material, like stone or particularly strong wood like oak, with the best usually coming from the wood of a dire tree (though in certain cultures, this practice would be considered taboo).

Cushions meanwhile can be stuffed with anything from straw, to feathers of dire chickens, geese or specially bred plants like certain cotton breeds.

Yautja vs Space Marine

image

A quick drawing of a Yautja hunting a Space Marine of the Marines Malevolent Chapter, everyone’s favorite dishonorable yellow marines, simply because I felt like it.

If the Malevolent Marine falls, well nothing of value was lost for the Imperium.

A Young Warlord Predator and an Upgrade Predator

image

In which I attempt to try and work with at least ONE idea from the 2018 Predator Movie… which was uh… tough.

Also simply just wanted to give one idea of how the Warlord got his skull helmet, because he’s already a BIG dude, and the guy he got his skull from also has to be pretty huge.

A Younger Robert and Mandy

A younger Robert and Mandy, inspired by at least three fanfics of Mandy being a Mecha Man stan in her youth, and might have even been rescued by a young Robert once, super early into his hero career.
