Jean: add in the contract that I can’t be rude or violent or I’m not signing it

Also Jean upon reading the contract that says he can’t be rude or violent: 😡😒😐

Exy Journalist: How do you manage to stay so calm and collected under pressure?
Andrew: Cigarettes and Repression
Neil: Running and Dissociation
Jean: Pain and Radical Acceptance
Jeremy: Sex and Denial
Kevin: Alcohol and I Don't

jean and neil’s relationship is so special to me and I am going to throw a fit if we don’t get more of them in the future. the fbi scene and them scheming to say they’ve known each other for years? perfect, give me more of that energy. I want more people finding out neil just casually omitted his little field trip to see jean. I love them so much

so you’re telling me that almost every instance in aftg where someone is protecting the other there’s romance subtext involved, but when renee’s first instinct is to cover allison every time, i’m supposed to believe that these are two straight women

Jean and Jeremy are the first players in the professional league to come out as gay.

After more information about The Nest came to light (the Moreau trial revealed much of what Tetsuji Moriyama did there, and Kevin, Jean, and the rest of the Ravens were considered survivors and victims), no one dared to speak about the rumors surrounding Jean. It was in poor taste because it was known that there had been sexual assaults and extreme abuse there, and the UEA did absolutely nothing.

Jean became extremely respected (even more so than Kevin) because his testimony at the trial was key, an invaluable act of courage. The families of the Ravens who committed suicide will be eternally grateful.

Jean finally found peace and tranquility, and Jeremy also found it by distancing himself from his family… but not as much as Jean.

People consider Jean a victim/survivor, so they don't talk about his sexuality out of respect for him. But this isn't the case with Jeremy.

Distancing himself from the Wilshires was practically like coming out of the closet. Their disdain only intensified the suspicion.

Jeremy became the ONLY openly gay player in the professional league, though he never spoke about his sexuality. His career was fraught with intrusive questions. His closeness to male teammates led the press to spread countless false rumors (though this didn't stop him from making good friends). Homophobic slurs were almost the norm on the pitch. On one occasion, a player Jeremy had befriended tried to kiss him. Jeremy punched him viciously, unleashing a rage he had almost forgotten.

This incident overshadowed Jeremy's rise to captaincy, because shortly afterward, this daring striker played against Jean's team. In an "unfortunate" footwork, Jean broke his ankle and collarbone against the plexiglass, ending his season.

People were shocked by the illegal play by their Golden Raven, but that didn't alienate the fans.

For those familiar with the incident involving Jeremy, the message was very clear.

Jeremy's team's coach and manager met to discuss the matter.

There had always been rumors about Jeremy and Jean, but they didn't spread too far because the press didn't want to mess things up again with the icon Jean Moreau had become.

However, the pressure on Jeremy is growing. The captaincy, absolutely deserved, doesn't fix it. Jean's arrival on the rival team, just two hours away, eases Jeremy's tension for almost three years.

But the rumors intensify because the closeness between the two is undeniable, both on and off the court.

They can't sell an intense rivalry like Andrew and Neil do. Jean is incapable of lying, and Jeremy has a limit to the taunts he throws at Jean. The jabs are harmless. It seems more like flirting than an attempt to feign rivalry.

Jean tries not to smile when Jeremy says something about him trying to be "cruel."

Everything falls apart when Jeremy gets his team to bid for Jean. His coach asks him directly what their relationship is. Jeremy lies. The next day, after talking with Jean, Cat, and Laila (guests at his home during the offseason), Jeremy confesses the truth to his coach.

The coach supports him but wants to control the narrative with Jean's manager.

Jean's transfer precipitates everything, but what hurts Jeremy the most is the return of rumors about Jean being close to Jeremy.

Jeremy's worst nightmare, what Faser told him so many years ago, is a reality.

Jeremy can endure all the insults, insinuations, and suspicion thrown at him, but he can't tolerate people comparing his own mistakes to the nightmare Jean had to live through.

They're going to make a statement, finally. They're going to deny everything, officially for the first time. They'll say they're just friends and that Jean has always been grateful to Jeremy for helping him when he left The Nest. They're very close, but they're just friends… even though they've been together for over eight years.

Jean isn't convinced, but that's what Jeremy asks him to do.

Jeremy says a few words welcoming Jean to the team. Jeremy barely looks at Jean, afraid of revealing too much. They answer the questions briefly, and after breaking the ice, the tough questions begin.

There's a script to follow.

Jean looks at Jeremy. Jeremy struggles not to look back and reveal anything. He can't stop his hands from trembling, though.

The reporters ask them about their relationship, which has always seemed so intimate. Jeremy wants to speak and deny everything, as the script says, but something is stuck in his throat.

Jean takes his trembling hand, leans over the microphone, and says:

"We've been together for eight years."

Fake idgafer Andrew Minyard will always be precious to me cause I KNOW he fretted over the thought of kissing Neil for quite a while.
