Tamagotchi x MAO

Bandai Namco has partnered up with MAO. MAO specializes in creating Sofubi (or Sofvi) figures which are made from soft, hollow vinyl. These figures are very popular in Japan due to their flexibility and collaboration with iconic brands. MAO is a Japanese designer and the daughter of renowned Japanese artist Touma.

MAO has been playing with Tamagotchi since they were little, and were really excited to get involved with Tamagotchi due to their love for the brand.

The collaboration brings two Sofubi figures, which are Mametchi and Kuchipatchi. Both designed and 3D modeled and featuring a low-polygon style. Available only in limited quantities, and they’ll be available to purchase at the Big Tamagotchi Exhibit at Roppongi Museum.

MAO has also designed an illustration that will be on display at the Big Tamagotchi Exhibit at Roppongi Museum starting on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026.
