  • Updated the default theme to latest version of Sumo, fixing a couple minor issues.

  • Some users may have received a “your archive is ready” email this morning because of a server error. You can ignore the email. But an extra backup can be nice, so save the archive file if you want! You can always request a new archive under Posts → Export.

  • Fixed push notifications not getting delivered for official Micro.blog mobile apps.

  • We are monitoring our servers again today after some brief downtown due to unexpected load. Thanks for your patience.

  • Updated auto-generated accessibility text for photos to use your default language if set on the Account page.

  • Updated Epilogue for iOS, fixing searching for some books by ISBN alone. 📚

  • Released a new version of Micro.blog for iOS, version 3.4.6, adding a Drafts button to the Posts screen to only show draft blog posts.

  • New feature on the web for desktop users: press the “/” key on any page to get a quick search bar. Great for jumping to different sections. Type “new post”, “logs”, “books”, and other keywords to navigate Micro.blog quickly.

  • Rolled out more blog publishing performance improvements and upgraded another one of our servers.

  • Sorry for the downtime and 503 errors today. Our main platform is getting flooded with hacking attempts. We’ve put some more protections in place and will be monitoring everything.

  • Added post-status=draft to Micropub when getting a list of posts with q=source, to make it easier to get only drafts.

  • Fixed adding a blank transcript link for podcast episodes even when AI is disabled for your account.

  • Fixed not being able to update redirects. You can add new standalone pages or redirects in the Pages section on the web.

  • Micro.blog is back online after a short outage caused by extra nefarious traffic from spammers and crawlers. Thanks for your patience.

  • Fixed some images not loading in the timeline.

  • Check for updates! There’s an update to Micro.blog for Mac, fixing cross-posting with multiple blogs and dragging more than one photo into Uploads.

  • Micro.blog’s timeline and some other background tasks are bogged down today and running slowly. Apologies for the delays. We are working on improving performance.

  • Fixed replying to posts on Bluesky from Micro.blog not making it back to Bluesky. Replies to replies were already working.

  • Fixed being able to download .epub files from a blog. A reminder that you can upload almost any kind of file to your blog, not just photos. If a file type isn’t supported, let us know.

  • Micro.blog is a little bogged down today. Thanks for your patience. I’m upgrading one of our servers and will pick up some optimization work from earlier in the week.

  • Released version 3.5 of Micro.blog for macOS, improving the preview window and uploading photos from the clipboard.

  • Fixed paging through lots of drafts on the web.

  • Fixed a few issues with handling errors, including when setting up Pixelfed cross-posting and domain name redirects for Micro.blog Premium.

  • Finished a server upgrade that should improve publishing performance, especially running Hugo behind the scenes. We’ll keep making things faster this week.
