You did a great job! The art is cohesive, the music is good, and it had all the elements of a full game. I liked the riddle in addition to the combat. I also liked how you managed to fit in a little exploration, too.
The one critique I have is I had a hard time figuring out where the hit boxes were. I only realized I was taking damage when I lost hearts. The combat wasn't super difficult, so it is really a minor critique.
I hope you feel proud, because this is a well done game jam submission. Really nice job. I'm looking forward to seeing more games from you.
Hey thanks for playing appreciate the comments your totally right the combat is tricky needs some improvement. I didn't have time to add all the bits to this or tweak some of the art the way I wanted so might spend a bit more time on a v2 and have some cool ideas for another one in future.
If you had more time, it wouldn't be a game jam. LOL. You should be celebrating what you accomplished. You made a fun game. That is hard enough without the added pressure and time restraints of a jam.
I really liked the vibe and colors and everything. Reminds me a bit of dragon quest(one of my fave franchise XD ) . The part with the riddle I liked a lot, too. I'm usually better at turned based adventure games but thought the combat felt nice to play!
