What are your animation basics? Like advice you’d give a complete beginner. How do you even go about starting?? Please help your animations are so good 😭
Well thank you, kind stranger : ] !
It’s honestly a lot of trial and error until you start to find your stride. So having patience and persistence will aid you greatly!
Specifically for starting out I’d say: Don’t be a perfectionist!
It was hard for me to get out of the mindset that my first pass at an animation had to also be the final product-which is wholly untrue😅Sometimes you need to animate the same thing 10 times for the best result and it works to be quick and loose.
USE REFERENCE, no matter how stupid the action reference will definitely help you better understand the arcs and general motion (I have too many embarrassing videos of me to count…)
Here’s some resources that really helped me :D
Pencil Tests, Anime Genga, Toniko(goated), Bam(peak beyond belief), and The Animator’s Survival kit by Richard Williams is pretty good (its very easy to find a pdf of it) *wink*
