“Apothecary is an album about some of the most powerful and energetic medicinal herbs. As I wrote the songs each one began to remind me of how I interpret what these herbs are saying energetically. The first song, Angelica, is one of the most beautiful plants to me, It reaches more than 7 feet tall and has flowers that are shaped like globes. The song gave me the feeling Angelica gives me when I see it in the wild- joy, harmony, and a very relaxing and intuitive vibe. It is often used in magic for protection. When I wrote Elder, it seemed transformative much like the shrub. The song Yarrow sounds so romantic to me that it reminded me of the plant because of its yearning and desire to connect. It is often used in love spells to bring people together. Motherwort is an amazing feminine herb, representing the divine mother. The song urges self-love and reflection. Horehound. is a potent medicinal herb as well and it has this powerful presence. It demands your attention. It is very grounding. I decided to call the album Apothecary, because these songs felt like a medicine pouch waiting to be used to guide and heal.”
