I just love tmblr for being a place where I can rant all I want about all my little thoughts and don't care who would read them and would anyone read them at all
and for being a place where I see some people just posting gifs and saying "I love him" or "he deserve better"
because that shitty world is certainly can use some love
and yeah, he certainly deserve better
in 2019 when i talked about Joker I remember one particular question being asked again and again: would it help if Arthur had someone by his side? someone who'd care enough to ask him "how was your day?" or listen to his jokes.
and most usual answer was "no, it wouldn't".
"no it wouldn't because he's mentally ill and too far gone and what could one person do about his real problems"
but i think – and thought it even then – what it would help, in fact. a lot, because whole part of Arthur's real problems is him being unable to form any significant connection. all his dairy is about him wanting to be seen, to not be alone anymore.
"i just need some space but not all alone".
and when, at least, some girl makes a move and smiles at him he trusts her immediately and immediately he brightens up, despite all his situation (being in the acylium, for example).
if someone smiled at him that way before all that shitshow with murders and staff, it would make all the difference.

after I saw the first movie, I constantly talked about it with anyone and it was a great shock for me – how many people didn't get it.
didn't get not even whole point, but Arthur and his quirks.
when I watched the movie, I came out with that feeling... like it's for everyone and about everyone. who didn't feel lost, after all? bad enough to want to hide from the whole world in the fridge? angry enough to want to kick something? tired enough to just wish for non-existence?
and then I learn for many people it was "strange". "pathetic". "just imagine someone like this can be living nearby! o horror!"
I still can't understand that reaction. not really.
but since then simple question "can you relate to Arthur Fleck" is still makes all the difference for me
because if you don't, it means you never was low enough in your entire life
it's like an inside joke, really :D
(and I still think if you watch a man being beaten down and all you can say about it is "pathetic loser"... it's not him, who has problems.
