you think Robby has only two handlers (Dana and Abbot) until this diva drives in
Ogilvie trying to correct Dennis in front of Robby… boy you will never make it into this ER I fear.
“y-you think huckleberry is a shitty nickname? :(((” DENNY BABYYYY I love him SO bad oh he’s going straight in my pocket
I’ve seen some people worrying that the pitt is ruining it’s “not romance based” theme bc of robbys situationship being present, and therefore thinking itll go down the greys anatomy route but it’s clear to me this couldn’t be further from the truth.
noelle isn’t introduced as a character that we’re going to get to know. shes not a serious relationship, there won’t be any wedding bells. shes not there so we can have a dramatic romantic blowup or have intense sexual subtext- shes there to show robbys habits, character, and mental state.
shes a device being used to tell us about robby and how he’s doing- she is not a greys anatomy overt romantic plotline. her existence tells us many things: robby can’t keep a stable relationship for more than a few weeks (note the way Dana talks to noelle. robbys done this many times, and other women have gotten hurt by his behaviour) noting his general lack of committment and balance in his personal life, it shows us robby is (somewhat recklessly and irresponsibly) sleeping around- a not uncommon thing people do when they’re self destructive state, and it shows us that he’s making bad decisions.
it’s about showing us another element of robbys deteriation mental health wise, and how it affects many elements of his life. this is pretty much as far away as possible as you could get from a “will they, wont they, omg how is their relationship this week, did they fight, will there be a ring” bullshit you get in other medical shows. there will never be episodes focused on it. there will never be overt tenderness or affection between them, or a kiss. there’s no need at all to worry.
the pitt is absolutely not at all losing substance or changing from it’s medicine focused theme. we’re just getting to know the characters and where they are 10 months post MCI. if anything, this is GOOD writing. the time post MCI will have changed these characters, and we’re getting to know in what ways.
‘langdon helps take care of an injured mel’ sounds like the one line summary of a 32k fic that makes you go to sleep at 3am forever changed well what if i told you it is currently HAPPENING on my TV
[people who knew each other for some twenty odd hours several months ago in a way that was totally normal voice] it’s an inside thing 🥰🥰
