Time for a quarterly reminder not to touch bats, even if your country has claimed to “eradicate rabies.” Because they only ever eradicated rabies lyssavirus, which was never even in bats in the Old World in the first place. All the other rabies causing lyssaviruses found in bats in places like Australia, Europe, and Asia are still there.
Germany has three viruses that cause rabies. The UK has two. Australia has one. They have even found rabid Japanese pipistrelle bats.
Please love and respect bats, they are so amazing for the ecosystem! Just don’t touch them.
“Just obey the police and they won’t kill you.”
In that case, everything a police officer says comes with an implied death threat. Therefore:
- There’s no such thing as consenting to a search or a valid confession.
- Any sex a police officer has is automatic rape. Any sex a police officer proposes is automatic attempted rape.
- A police officer approaching someone and starting a conversation with them is kidnapping.
- A police officer asking to enter someone’s home is attempted burglary.
You can’t have it both ways. You don’t get to require compliance with police officers under threat of death while also believing that a consensual interaction with a police officer is possible.
This is terrorism. They have been doing this in Patagonia for months.
Multiple IDF grenades have been found near the forests and it’s getting almost no media coverage because Milei (the president) is an Israel sympathizer.
Watching this happen just days after the US bombed Venezuela makes it a really scary time to live in Latin America.
From the bottom of my heart I hope every Israeli gets what they deserve.
Check your cheese again!
This asshole wants to get rid of the due process he abuses once every four days.
Career criminal is a massive understatement.
Hate it when TikTok farm cosplayers and cottagecore types say stuff like “I’m not going to use modern equipment because my grandmothers could make do without it.” Ma'am, your great grandma had eleven children. She would have killed for a slow cooker and a stick blender.
I’ve noticed a sort of implicit belief that people used to do things the hard way in the past because they were tougher or something. In reality, labor-saving devices have historically been adopted by the populace as soon as they were economically feasible. No one stood in front of a smoky fire or a boiling pot of lye soap for hours because they were virtuous, they did it because it was the only way to survive.

I can’t find the post talking about it anymore, but actually wanting to live for the first time in forever is absolutely terrifying.
I’m gonna turn 30 this year and I spent half of my life thinking “I won’t make it to 2 more years”, so when I now look behind me, there is nothing, years and years of not looking forward to shit, no planning, no hoping. The void.
And I now I have to build something on sand fundations and waddle around until I can get something stable, and that shit is disabling.
But I am very grateful I don’t want to kill myself for once.
