Organizing Under the Sink

Organizing under your sink can be difficult, especially if there are pipes and other large appliances in the way. Here I’ll share the best ways to reclaim some sanity every time you open those doors under the sink. I’ll recommend a variety of products that will work in any area, whether it’s in the kitchen or the bathroom.

Tips for organizing under the sink

  • Only keep items that you use regularly under the sink.
  • Try to store backstock elsewhere.
  • Find your measurements (including the space in front of or around permanent fixtures, like pipes and appliances) to know which products will fit.
  • Place items close to where you use them (dish soap closer to the dishwasher, trash bags closer to the trash can).
  • Pull items to the front. Avoid placing items in the back; you want to aim for easy access.
  • Don’t forget to label the containers!

My favorite products for organizing under the sink

Depending on your space, you can choose from the products I use most commonly.

  • Multipurpose bins are tall and contain items like cleaners, hair care products, and trash bags.
  • OXO Pop containers are great for dishwasher pods, powder soap, bath salts, and grocery bags.
