I think that the fact that Jiang Cheng is essentially a carbon copy of his mother, looks wise and in demeanor (occasionally), is, imo, criminally under-discussed. In the live-action, the animation, the audio-drama, the manhua, etc- fanart even (including my own) they’re nigh identical in physical features and emotional reactions. And I just think its not utilized enough;
- Mme. Jin, after YZY’s death who either cant look Jiang Cheng’s face without feeling
rage at how they killed her-a bone crushing sadness; or who does anything and everything to keep Jiang Cheng in Golden Carp Tower, to keep the last of HER in Jinlin Tai. - In political meetings where Sect Leaders either dismiss Jiang Cheng entirely due to a “pretty face” or “a temper unmatched by the devil” like his mother.
- How sometimes interacting with Jiang Cheng is just wrong, at times looking like a Huli-jing, who stole Yu Ziyuans face, or even a Yaoguai at times. Its not so much a resemblance so much so as if Jiang Cheng stole the face of his own mother.
- At Sect Confrences it makes people stop in their tracks at the slightest tilt of the head, the clench of a jaw, a sneer of the lips, even the twisting of Zidian. Because they have to remind themselves that Yu Ziyuan is dead, and not sitting infront of them.
- Sometimes people(Jin Guangshan when hes particularly drunk, or Sect Leader Yao in his complaints) comment on how Jiang Cheng is too pretty for a man, how maybe hes more like
his mothera woman, than they think. - How Jin Guangyao may not be the fondest of Jiang Wanyin, but refuses to leave him alone in a room with Jin Guangshan. He knows how men like that act when someone is pretty enough to not care who they are.
- How sometimes saying Jiang Wanyin just feels wrong, when Jiang Fengmian shunned his own son to such an extent, how Yu Wanyin just flows easier off the tongue; how it just fits better.
- How Sect Leader Yu REFUSES to let Jiang Cheng out without one of her disciples, her spiders accompanying him. She will not risk losing her
ZiyuanWanyin. - How when Meishan Yu makes the rare appearance how the Yu and Jiang disciples have a bit too much resemblance. How you have to wonder where one clan ends and the other begins. How when Sect Leader Yu, and Sect Leader Jiang sit next together- all they can see is Sect Leader Yu and The Violet Spider; side by side as they’ve always been.
- How whenever Sect Leader Yu is around Sect Leader Jiang’s Jiang Violet turns darker, more blue in it- eerily reminiscent of Meishan Yu’s own colorings.
- How its impossible to ignore this spark that appears in her eyes whenever Jiang Wanyin is arround. A spark of intrigue, spark of pride, spark of
grief-longing-painpainpain - How its uncanny how hes even inherited her ticks, the way she’d sneer at certain sect leaders, how Zidian will spark in anger even if her face was set in stone, how she has a preference for the darker Yu colors- even now as a (tenchical) Jiang.
- They gossip how Jiang Fengmian always favored WWX as a Jiang, over his own son- and how Yu Ziyuan always went to Meishan. Whats to say that Jiang Wanyin didnt go with her?
- They question Jiang Wanyin’s loyalty is he to the Yu or to the Jiang? Whose to say that this wasnt the goal of the Yu? It is not hard to play the long game, and the Yu have always had a touch of cruelty to them.
- How he’ll walk at night, with the young Jin Rulan, and they have to stop from reaching for their swords and remind themselves that its not Yu Ziyuans ghost haunting the halls, merely her son.
- People say Jiang Wanyin got her face, but it’s more than that. He got her manner. The stillness before she struck, the perfectionism that made her unyielding. He inherited her impossible standards and her ghost’s silence, and now the household feels haunted—every time he enters a room, it’s as though Yu Ziyuan is back, but younger, smaller, untouchably composed.
- When WWX sees JC again after his revival, it’s not recognition—it’s recoil. For a heartbeat he thinks Madame Yu has stepped out of her grave, jaw tense, eyes measuring. The same way she used to look at him before the shouting started.
- And WWX doesnt mean to stare like that. He just looks. But WWX feels fourteen again, back under that glare that could strip the excuses off his tongue.
I just think theres so much POTENTIAL in this, its not highlighted enough, idk maybe im crazy but idk as someone who looks JUST like her mother theres so much in life that is a bit different for me than for other people; and JC and YZY have such a delightful prospect to their relationship and interactions especially when youre talking about how theyre so physically similar.

Inspired by all of the iconic chaos of @mentallyunawareofpapaya’s Batman/Jason Todd/DC HC’s; I bring everyone this unholy amalgamation of an idea that has plagued me: The ACTUAL way Gotham finds out how Batman and the Red Hood are connected.
Okay so we like have HC’s/fics on how other rogues of Gotham get relatively vaguely aware of the fact Red Hood allies himself with the Bats, or like tamps down on the murdering because thats HIS dysfunctional family okay, well, now I bring up the idea that the Red Hood’s connection to the BatClan gets accidentally outed in the most Youre-In-Trouble-Way someone can get.
Lets set The Scene:
Jason, while as Red Hood is interrogating someone, or doing something that has an audience, after Bruce CLEARLY told him no, and then all of a sudden- BAM. Batman is here and has a look on his face that could kill god himself, and so now, everyone is preparing for like the final boss showdown, right?
WRONG.
Because its not just Batman who is now here, its BatDAD, and hoooo boy is he upset. Upset in a way that only a parent can be when their kid has ROYALLY fucked up. Where they only have to say a few words to have their kid panicking;
“Hood.”
“But I didn’t even do anything!”
“I said no”
“Well I needed this information, you-”
“I. said. no.”
“But–”
“no.”
“But Dadddddd”
Its all the panicked of a /holy-shit-I-fucked-up/ intro to a meltdown, and now these rogues/goons/whoever is looking like a damn meerkat- because did, did Red Hood, THE Red Hood, just call Batman dad???? Are we hallucinating?? Were we drugged??
Meanwhile Bruce is like dragging Jason out by the collar and is like “Get in the car. NOW”, and Jason-Theater-Kid-Todd is NOT going to make that easy. Cue full on dramatics, the “you dont love me”’s, the whole nine yards. Everyone else is convinced this is some fucking twighlight zone, like this period of shock is historically considered the Lowest Crime Rate in Gotham, and it goes on for like 3 whole days, the people are SHOCKED.
And ironically enough, The Red Hoods street-cred stays the same if not gets a bit better, because, okay yeah a duffle-bag full of severed heads this Red Hood guy is certifiably insane; but do you really want THE BAT sickked on you for fucking up his kid? Like we were all here to see the carnage after the 2nd Robins.. accident. HELL NO. Now people wont fucking TOUCH the Red Hood, because hell hath no fury like a Batman with a grudge because you decided to go after one of his kids.
And Jason? FUCKING LIVID at this information, acting like some caged tiger because now no one will fight him, and Bruce is very please, and a bit smug.
Bruce stops being so smug when Jason, as the Red Hood, later goes on to proclaim Harvey Dent as his other father.
So I realize I havent posted any thing Top Gun in a hot minute so I did a little thing;

Team Taka and drinking
(Some random thoughts bc why not)
- I had this crazy thought that what if, bc he’s basically water, anything Suigetsu drinks affects his coloring. Green soda? He’s going to look a little sick for a bit. Cool aid? Well he’s really pinkish now. Etc etc. and because of that he only drinks clear alcohols like sake or vodka. He drank beer once and it was not a good look.
- Karin is mainly a shots person but sometimes she wants a cocktail. Her alcohol tolerance is high and she never really seems drunk until she’s passed out on whatever furniture is closest. The first time she ever drunk alcohol she ended up getting super sick (Suigetsu was there and complained loudly about having to hold her hair back) but has never been sick since. She has won every drinking competition she has entered.
- Juugo doesn’t drink. He’s wary of mood altering stuff (for obvious reasons, poor guy) and avoids them at all costs. Doesn’t mind people drinking around him though. He is the designated driver.
- (* side note: i definitely have AUs etc where Juugo does drink, but this list is more for in-universe them)
- Sasuke will not drink any alcohol that tastes sweet. Suigetsu gave him rum once and he spit it back into the cup. Doesn’t actually drink that often but when he does it’s something light or in very small quantities. Has definitely taken a drink to get out of driving everyone home.
- Drunk Suigetsu talks even more than sober Suigetsu but will get increasingly ominous and/or personal with what he’s saying. When drunk, Suigetsu will read you like a book and talk about all of your insecurities while smiling in the eeriest way. Not in an “I’m using this thing you’re struggling with against you” way but in a “hey, this [very specific] thing seems to bother you. We should talk about it. ‘Kay! :) “ kind of way.
- Everyone generally likes it when Sasuke drinks a little because he gets so relaxed. He’ll actually smile and laugh and it seems like you’re seeing the real him instead of the troubled stiff thing he has going on most of the time, even around them.
- i LOVE everything about this, so here are a few more:
- Whenever Taka goes out together it either always ends up in a (sometimes attempted depending where they are) revolution plan/utter chaos.
- Once they were in Konoha and went out, and for obvious reasons the people/shinobi were very obviously concerned- somehow Taka got so drunk they took up residence in The Forest of Death and laid seige to the Konohan Government/Hokage for three days with nothing other than the feral racoons they found in the forest.
- Unionized feral racoons committing a coup was not on Kakashi’s Bingo Card that year
- To this day no one knows how they managed to do it, more or less actually succeed in partial coup of the system.
- All absolutely claim to have no recollection of the chaos
- I think that they all have high tolerances just in different stages;
Suigetsu: Can pace himself but goes 100% in the beginning to enjoy the drunken haze at the end, once absorbed an entire bottle of vodka through osmosis. Will start fights.
Karin: Feels nothing till she is blackout, and can and will throw down shots like water, has never lost a drinking competition. Will finish fights.
Sasuke: Gets super giggly and happy almost immediately but can outlast everyone in drinking. Is 100% a runner and is a Disney Princess when drunk; will cry if a cat wont let him pet them. Will be the one who gets their drinks paid for by other patrons.
Juugo: Doesnt drink but enables the chaos, because he’s going to have fun one way or another. Will be the one to smile apologetically but revel in the discord.
- Everytime this happens whoever is in charge of wherever they are will call Orochimaru and be like “Pick up your hellions they are defacing the hokage monument”
- This leads to heated custody arguments over Sasuke between Orochimaru and Kakashi
“He obviously gets it from your side of the family” Orochimaru hisses out
“My side??? Well he obviously got repressed from your side of the family! He always used to smile with me!” Kakashi bites back
“What is even going on right now?? Neither of you are actually his parents”
- Everyone is very confused
- There are several times when they will drunkenly experiment with jutsu that will change/alter them in a certain way, and when they sober up the next morning have absolutely no clue how to reverse it
- They are no longer allowed to drink in Iwa after The Incident unless with approved personelle as supervision and are all only allowed a drink per hour
