Honestly if they quit world domination because they hate micromanagement, their villain org sucks ass. This tracks though because mad scientists are famously terrible at delegation.
It turns out that the sorts of minions who are willing to get on board with the idea of perfecting the world through brute force are actually pretty bad at effecting positive change without meticulous supervision.
the average person with bad taste can be into some extremely banal garbage but when you get close enough to someone with otherwise good taste that they start a recommendation by going off on a preamble about how they don't necessarily recommend it you know you're seconds away from hearing about some real torturously wretched dogshit
friend from work will have you watch a two hour movie where you can feel every second as it passes by, but enemployed movie mutual will put you on the kind of shit that feels like crawling on cobblestone until emaciated

Not to insert myself here but as someone who owns Ghost Rider 1 and 2 on DVD I do actually need everyone to watch it right now because in the second one a kid asks Nick Cage as Ghost Rider how he pees and Nick Cage says “it’s like a flamethrower” and then they hard cut to a CGI skeleton in full black moto leather pissing a jet of fire and then it does a shoulder check at the camera and nods like “hell yeah brother”

tv pitch: a completely average workplace sitcom except that it’s established at the end of the pilot that it takes place on the 90th floor of the world trade center in 2000. every episode the date is shown, just to build the sense of impending doom. the show is otherwise a completely generic the office ripoff. the intro sequence is a montage of airplanes taking off.
at the end of the second season, we reach 9/10/01. after six months of waiting, season 3 drops. now it’s 9/12/01. nothing has happened. the characters carry on as normal. fans of the series go insane. the show never explains what happened, and continues to pretend it’s a normal sitcom.

the conundrum where most swordsmen are going to be right-handed, so your experience will always be skewed towards that assumption even if you're aware left-handed swordsmen exist, combined with the fact that this means left-handed swordsmen ALSO had more experience against right-handed swordsmen, is definitely one of the funnier manifestations of handedness. like yeah, no real way to get around that, it's basically a completely invisible height advantage
I think it only strikes me as such a funny one because it didn't like... go away. it's just easier to identify it as a blindspot now that you can ask "do you know anyone left-handed I can practice against" with the advent of modernity instead of suddenly ending up in a situation where the arms manual is wrong about what's supposed to be happening
