Tomorrow is the first day I will be teaching my own class. Nervous. What if they push me into a locker and call me a nerd? What if they kill me with hammers?
In all seriousness I can’t sleep. I feel very anxious. I’m sure within three weeks it’s gonna start feeling second nature to me. Just gotta get over the learning curve. Two big fears: 1) I will let my students down. This is almost 100% gonna be the case. It’s my first time teaching a college course, they’re gonna deservedly want their money back when the semester is over. 2) that I will disappoint the professors I’ve been working with for years now that think somewhat highly of me. This will almost 100% not happen. If it goes poorly they’ll be like “don’t worry it always goes bad the first time, it’ll get better.” But I somehow have convinced people I am smart and capable and this is the big moment where everybody will realize it’s been a ruse this whole time and I’m a big dumb idiot.
