- “Help me.”
- You could’ve sworn you heard a familiar voice — someone you knew, yet you couldn’t quite place who. There was no one at the front door, and you hadn’t any visitors (to your knowledge, anyway.) Could it just be your imagination?
- “Where am I?”
- The voice seemed to come from nowhere in particular. You searched through all the rooms in your apartment; the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, and even your dusty old guest room. You seemed to be completely alone.
- “Who am I?”
- You felt a shiver down your spine. This was starting to get creepy… You wanted to just go to sleep, but even after a late night snack (hey, you were in the kitchen anyways,) you found yourself unable to rest. Going for a walk usually helped you sleep, but it was a tad late to go outside.
- “Who are you?”
- Oh right! You hadn’t checked the loft yet! Sure, that place was dustier than even your guest room, but at least if your search went cold there, you’d have done your best…though at this point, you weren’t sure if you even wanted to find whatever this was… Armed with your phone’s flashlight, you climbed the dusty old stairs, ready for some ghostbusting.
- “Hello.”
- You could hear the voice more clearly now, but you couldn’t tell where the voice came from. Eventually, you found a clue. A pile of old plushies, all of them caked in dust — except for one: a blue wolf plushie. It looked oddly familiar — someone you knew intimately, yet the name escaped you.
- “Hug me.”
- Without a doubt, the voice was coming from the plushy. You stepped closer hesitantly and picked it up. It was so soft and fluffy. Aww… It was just lonely, huh? You gave it a big hug, just like it deserved. All your worries had been for nothing. There were no scary ghosts.
- He began to walk back down the loft stairs, hugging your plushy self all the while. It felt so nice to finally be hugged… How long had you been trapped up there anyway? But now that you could cuddle with someone in a warm bed instead of that cold dusty attic, you could rest. All that mattered now were your warm, happy plushie thoughts...
