There's a purple box with a pinstripe pattern, tied up with deeper purple ribbon, waiting for Bonely. The tag reads "From Hope." Inside is a bolo tie with a shining silver clasp with an oval cut fire opal set in its center.
Reggie and Lenar sat in their living room above the pawnshop, Reggy enjoying his wind-up cars and planes while Lenar tried his new boxing gloves on to fit. Other packages from friends and family sat at their sides while Boney looked over the scene with satisfaction.
“Hey pops,” Reggie said, pointing to the small fern they used as a Christmas tree. “There’s one for you!”
Bonely looked over and arched an eyebrow. “One for me, huh? Well, let’s see what it is.”
He reached over and plucked the purple box from under the fern and smiled. Purple pinstripes and a deep purple ribbon. Signature colors. With a gentle tug, Stan pulled the ribbon and opened the box.
“Aw, would yeh look at that,” he said and held up the bolo tie.
“Silver ‘n’ fire opal,” Lenar said, leaning over to get a good look. “Yeah, that’s sterling silver pops.”
Stan handled the tie with care and looked at the tag with a smile. “Aw, this is beautiful. I’ll have teh find somethin’ just as nice fer her when I run inteh her again. Get a suit put together 'n’ everythin’.”
“Whatcha gonna get her?” Reggie asked curiously.
“I got a few ideas she might like,” Bonely mused, and slipped the bolo tie over his head and snugly under his collar.
*boston accent* “It takes a pet like NO PRABLEM! Nat afraid at alll, Thats a great cat right there..”

But he’s still giving you the stink eye because he’s actually a New York bodega cat at Willy’s Deli in Brooklyn and you know how New Yorkers are about Bostonians
