El's ambiguous ending pisses me off so much. While I think her choice to kill herself was sad and miserable at least she made that choice. At least she got to decide, at last, what she wanted to do. And when Mike spins prose about how El might have survived, her agency is taken away from her. Suddenly, it is up to Mike what her ending might be. It is up the viewers to decide what they believe she did. She died and she still never got her agency. She never got to make a fucking choice.
