Bigfoot vlog trend: What it is & how to do it yourself

By Matic Broz ·

Bigfoot vlogs are not what I expected to become viral, just a day after the release of Google’s Veo 3, a major AI video generation model. It’s quickly exploded into a trend, racking up millions of views for content creators producing AI-generated Sasquatch characters living everyday influencer lives. These are nothing like the grainy Bigfoot ‘sightings’ we’re used to seeing. No, they’re crystal-clear 4K videos of mythical creatures making coffee, giving life advice, and documenting their forest routines like any modern vlogger.

As creators have discovered the viral potential of cryptid content, built entire businesses around Bigfoot personas, and developed sophisticated production techniques, it’s become harder to answer what sounds like a simple question: How do Bigfoot vlogs actually work?

Well, I’m going to break it all down for you.

Table of contents:

What are Bigfoot vlogs?

Bigfoot Vlogs is a TikTok meme trend built around AI-generated videos of sasquatch-like creatures filming vlogs in the style of human influencers. These videos typically show Bigfoot, Yeti, or other cryptids doing everyday activities, from morning routines and cooking tutorials to giving relationship advice and reviewing trail cameras (that last one is hilarious to me).

Of course, Bigfoot vlogs rely entirely on AI to generate both the video and sometimes even the audio. As I write this, most successful Bigfoot vloggers rely on Google Veo 3 to generate high-quality video clips with realistic movement and expressions.

The first known Bigfoot Vlogs video was posted to TikTok in late May 2025 by @bigfootvlogs. The original video, which now has over 5 million views, showed Bigfoot casually introducing himself, demonstrating what he had for breakfast, taking a dip in a river, and foraging for berries in the woods.

How to create your own Bigfoot vlogs (or any other)

Not along ago, you needed to combine several AI tools to create something like this. First, you had to generate an AI image, then animate it using video gen, create synthetic speech and SFX separately, and then edit them together.

Since the release of Veo 3, this is much easier because according to Deepmind, “Veo 3 lets you add sound effects, ambient noise, and even dialogue to your creations – generating all audio natively.

Gemini Veo models

You can access Veo 3 through official Google plans, but they’re exorbitantly expensive at $250 per month that gets you up to 125 videos ($2 per AI video).

Much cheaper solutions are Envato where you can generate 15 videos for $16.50 (~$1 per AI video), plus you get a library of 22 million royalty-free assets. Freepik also offers Veo 3, costing from $12 to $158 per month for anywhere between 4 and 75 videos (~$2 to $3 per video), depending on the plan.

Once you decide on the platform, the rest is a piece of cake. Come up with an idea for your vlog and write it into a prompt. Here’s a template you can use.

“POV handheld camera footage of Bigfoot in [setting], [action], speaking directly to camera saying ‘[dialogue]’, [lighting description], [sound effects], natural movement”

For example, I created a Bigfoot vlog using the following prompt (video below). Everything took me 5 minutes (3 of which I spent waiting for the video to generate).

“POV handheld camera footage of Bigfoot in dense forest, walking along a creek and picking berries, speaking directly to camera saying ‘Found my favorite spot for breakfast’, morning sunlight filtering through trees, birds chirping, water flowing sounds, natural movement”

Subtitles were also automatically generated, and they’re almost correct.

Note: Don’t forget to select the right aspect ratio. For TikTok and other social media, you’ll likely need vertical orientation.

Tips for creating Bigfoot vlogs

Design a unique character

Start with a clear concept. While Bigfoot and Yeti are popular, creators are already branching out to other characters like aliens, historical figures, or entirely original creations.

The key is finding a balance between familiarity and novelty—your audience should instantly understand what your character is, but be surprised by their personality or situation.

You could consider mixing unexpected elements: a sophisticated Bigfoot who reviews fine wines, a Yeti who’s obsessed with streetwear, or a chupacabra running a cooking channel. The more specific and unexpected your concept, the more likely it is to stand out in a crowded feed.

Develop a consistent voice

Your character doesn’t only need a visual identity, but also a distinct personality that consistent through in all videos. Think about how they speak: Does your Bigfoot use outdoorsy slang or speak in philosophical riddles? Is your Yeti’s accent influenced by where they supposedly live?

Document your character’s traits, catchphrases, interests, and quirks in a character bible that you reference before creating each video. Create their backstory, their opinions on human culture, their favorite activities, and even their fears or pet peeves.

Master the art of prompting

The quality of your AI-generated videos depends heavily on how well you craft your prompts. In my experience, video gen works best when you include specific details about:

  • Camera movement (handheld for vlogs, static for interviews)
  • Lighting conditions (golden hour in the forest, harsh fluorescents in a convenience store)
  • Audio elements (rustling leaves, city traffic, your character’s breathing).

The more cinematic language you use—terms like “shallow depth of field,” “dramatic lighting,” or “cinematic composition”—the better your results will to be.

Should you join the Bigfoot vlogs trend?

The Bigfoot vlog trend is still rising in popularity at the time of my writing. But now that you saw what’s possible, you can create your own trend. Options are quite literally unlimited right now, you just need the right idea.
