Freepik pricing has changed several times in the last year. This stock image site slowly turned into an AI platform, and the new plans reflect that.
The cheapest plan, called Essential, costs $5.75 per month (billed annually) and gives you access to Freepik’s AI tools only. Nowadays, if you want to license Freepik’s royalty-free media, you need the Premium plan for $12 per month. There’s also a Premium+ plan for $24.50 per month that includes everything.

How do AI credits work?
AI credits are the digital currency of Freepik’s AI tools. Each time you use an AI tool, it costs you a certain number of credits, ranging from 1 to 5500 credits, depending on the action.
The truth is that even simple actions, like generating an image, can cost up to 500 credits, so 7,000 AI credits a month is not a lot.
Here’s a summary of Freepik AI pricing.
- AI image generator (1 to 500 per image): The cheapest Classic Fast model costs 1 credit per image, while the AI Assistant -GPT4o High costs up to 500 per image. Mot models cost between 40 and 100 credits per image.
- Custom LoRA (5500 per product/character/style): LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) is used to apply specific visual styles to generated images without having to retrain the entire underlying AI model.
- AI video generator (150 to 2800 per generation): Creating AI videos is much more complex. For instance, a 9-second HD video from one of the best video generators, Luma Ray, costs 2600 AI credits. That’s $2 to $3 worth of credits for a single video.
There are also other hidden costs. For instance, simply selecting a style reference with image generators costs an additional 100 credits, while downloading an SVG costs 150 credits.

How does Freepik pricing compare
Freepik is quite affordable compared to other photo subscriptions. Envato Elements is a bit more costly but is a much better video subscription, while Vecteezy is even more affordable than Freepik, but in my opinion, not worth the price.
