While programs like Word or LibreOffice are useful as a #writer, there are a few apps out there that are better suited for #writing a novel or #SelfPublishing. As I continue my search for the best, here are my top choices thus far. And right now, I'm really loving Reedsy.

Plot generators can come up with some amazing storylines for a variety of purposes. You can also use them to help with writer's block if you find yourself a bit stuck with your manuscript. Or, you can use them to #write an anthology of sorts. There's a lot of flexibility with #writing prompts. I've tested out several and have quite a few that rank among my favorite writing apps.

I'm always looking for new #writing apps tailored for authors. This time around, I was able to test out Scrivener while writing the next episode of my audiobook, Despair. And so far, I kind of like #Scrivener. Though, it does take a bit of getting used to as there is so much involved with writing your book.

One of the biggest reasons why most #selfPublished authors don't make more sales or gain popularity is because of #marketing. Can #Draft2Digital help by getting your book in front of more readers? Regardless, you still need to do a lot of leg-work if you want your book to succeed. Don't just set it and forget it.

Did you know you can quickly share your #manuscript with beta readers from #Reedsy? It's as simple as clicking the share button, selecting what you're sharing, and then distributing the URL of your book. No worries...no one can edit from this screen. They can only read the manuscript. I usually share my rough drafts with Buy Me a Coffee monthly supporters.

A plot generator has quite a few uses for a #writer. They can help you get those creative juices going, combat #writers block, or even prompt you to write an anthology. But is the RanGen Plot Generator worth your time? Aside from questionable ads that pop up once in a while, it has a bit of potential.

There are a lot of tools out there for #writers of all kinds. I'm currently amassing a collection of the ones I find most useful. From #writing the book to creating #eBook covers, I've tried quite a list of different platforms. What are your favorites for publishing?

When searching for your name in Google as a #writer, what shows up? It took me a great deal of time to boot the lawyer and doctor off of the top of the search results. But at least my author profile on #Amazon is the second result. Do what you can to promote yourself as much as possible. Whether it's blogging or social media, it all matters to Google.

There is a lot of stigma surrounding authors who #SelfPublish their books. But in reality, I respect those who do a bit more considering how much is involved with #writing, editing, and promoting a book all on their own. There's a lot that goes into putting together a good book.

Although Goodreads doesn't have an official plugin for something like #WordPress, you can still add it quite easily to virtually any blog. In my case, I've added it as a sidebar widget so visitors can see any reviews I accumulate from my books. It's just a simple way to help promote yourself as an author whether you're #SelfPublishing or not.

Is Kindle Vella something you should try as an author? Although it has potential for exposure while #SelfPublishing, it depends greatly on being able to commit to a conitnuous release of episodes. That is unless you write the entire book first and then piece it out to the platform. If you're serious about #writing, it might be worth checking out.
