I know the comics been over for years now. But is there any reason why you didn't decide to name Team Azalea's parents? Was it to keep up the 'Saturday morning cartoon' the comic had? (Well that's at least the vibe it gave me.) Or did neither of you just come up with names for them?

It’s mainly just cause when you’re a kid, the adults in your life don’t have names. Your parents are “Mom” and “Dad.” Your friends’/peers’ parents are: “Cindy’s Mom,” “Patrick’s Dad,” “Eli’s Mother,” etc. We wanted the comic to feel like childhood, so that’s why none of the adults really have names!

I’ve just thought of something looking back on LL (it is my fave of yours) that possibly with Blue and Navy’s mother, she went through a childhood being expected %100 of her parent to be extremely perfect at everything, and has yet to break the cycle with her daughters.

😅 maybe I thought too hard on this,

saltnpepperbunny answered:

Ahh, Donphan mama, LL’s most hated character lol. Some readers really don’t fuck with her and I think that’s valid. A lot of people have parents like her, and that’s a very hard thing to deal with growing up. Her deal is with fear, unacknowledged trauma from a childhood where she grew up with extremely little, and wanting to make sure that neither of her daughters suffer the same fate when it’s their turn to look after themselves. She can protect her daughters from the suffering of poverty by making sure they have the grades to go far, making sure they have the grit and strength to take whatever life throws at them. She absolutely loves her daughters. She just puts that love on them in very difficult ways, and unfortunately, when it comes to plain feelings, she’s really not the best equipped to handle it. She grew up in a household that shut down feelings, so that’s how she’s chosen to run her household as well.

I wish I could’ve gotten more time to develop Donphan mom in the comic. She only comes in at the end, so there was like no time to properly bring out all these aspects of her character. The story just wasn’t really about her, ig, but this is stuff I think about with all my different characters haha.

Howdy, did Little Lapses end? I fell off of the comic I think fourty pages in, got a tad lost and didn't know how to pick it up again. Was used to seeing a notification from it

So, I was wondering if it's still around?

saltnpepperbunny answered:

Yes, the comic ended back in July! If you go to the blog’s main site (NOT THE DASHBOARD VIEWER), you will find a Story Navigation tab where you can read the whole comic in order, as well as read individual chapters in order. It’s a very handy thing I’ve set up that no one ever finds because of the stupid dashboard viewer. X'3 I miss when Tumblr used to just use the custom blogs.

Here’s a link to Little Lapses Story Navigation. Hope you enjoy!
